Brand:  Little Lamb

Little Lamb

Little Lamb washable breast pads in my opinion are THE BEST washable breast pads I’ve ever used and I’ve tried many brands over the years of breastfeeding my three children.

So why are they go good.....?

  • They are extremely slim making them discrete in your bra and under clothing. You’ll have no more telltale round outlines under clothes even with fitted tops.
  • They are lined with a breathable PUL coating to ensure you don’t get any leaks. Many of the washable breast pads I tried didn’t have a waterproof layer at all. Once these other pads were saturated the milk would begin to seep through to your bra and clothes.
  • They are made of incredibly soft and super absorbent bamboo which holds more liquid than traditional cotton pads.
  • Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal reducing the risks of yeast infections.
  • The diameter of the pads is 11cm or 13cm so they will not slip about or peek out of your top. 11cm are the average size however for more well endowed ladies (lucky you) 13cm offer better coverage and higher absorbency.

Simply pop these into your bra and position centrally over your nipple. They are highly absorbent and even with my strong milk let down I never needed to change them due to them being saturated. In the first few months of breastfeeding I did change them during the day purely for hygiene but over time as my milk flow began to settle down they were perfect for all day use. I also used these for managing night time leaking too.

I wash them with my normal household washing at either 30 or 40deg and dry them on an airer over night. You may find putting them into a small mesh laundry bag helps prevent them getting separated or lost in with other washing.

The breast pads come in packs of 5 pairs and are tied together with a ribbon to reduce packaging. You will need between 5-10 pairs depending on your milk let down and your washing frequency.

Fluff still coming off
Friday, 10 October 2014  |

Unfortunately I have not yet had a successful wear of these as the fluff (after many washes!) is still coming off onto my nipple

Soft and recommended

I haven't actually used these yet since Baby hasn't been born but they arrived quickly and look like very good quality. They were strongly recommended to me by a friend who found disposable pads and other washable pads stuck to her very very sore breasts in the early stages when she was feeding and was very sore. These are really really soft and I'm confident will do the job

Washable breast pads, natural colour, 13cm
Thursday, 4 September 2014  |

Nice and soft, comfier than disposables. As other people have said they do leave fluff behind but this is greatly reduced after several washes. Slim so not noticeable under clothing. I would definitely recommend the 13cm size as I am quite small and these are about right for me. Can't really comment on absorbency as don't leak much.

Very good product!
Thursday, 28 August 2014  |

I bought these after the price of the disposable ones I'd been using went up. They're very comfortable and very absorbent. Another plus - I don't hear that awful crinkle noise when I move anymore! My baby cluster feeds all evening, and then doesn't feed all night, so I'm very full in the morning and always leak a lot for the first couple hours I'm up, but these help much MORE than disposables! The only downside is they take a VERY long time to dry, so get plenty of pairs! I only ordered five, but if my baby was still newborn (we're approaching weaning age) I would definitely order at least another five, possibly ten. But overall a very good product; highly recommend.

Lovely and soft pads. Absorbent. Lost their shape after washing though and couldn't be stretched back.

Response:

Try hanging them on a peg airer to dry and they should stay flat.

These pads are very absorbent but also dry quickly after washing. They are very soft and comfy to wear.

Good for bra users
Thursday, 31 July 2014  |

We were very encouraged buying these by the excellent reviews, and I (the father) wear bamboo briefs and socks so am keen on the benefits.

These are best used inside bras as they are unshaped and slipped off my wife's breasts while she is just wearing easy to access tops for feeding.

The shaping is also important if you have large nipples. We've found this to be important.

Finally, which I didn't expect, like my socks they shed bits of small fluff. This means that baby ends up with black bits around his mouth, which is neither attractive nor easy to remove (just as they aren't from my feet!) I don't have this problem with any other bamboo garment, which is the reason why I didn't expect it.

I still love bamboo for its absorbency and antibacterial properties, these just weren't for us.

They are very nice and soft, just wash them before use otherwise your breast will be covered in cotton.

bamboo washable breast pads
Thursday, 24 July 2014  |

Great size and colour, soft and well made but every time I use them they leave my breasts covered in black bits. These bits are really hard to remove, so I need to wash before feeding baby, which is not conjusive to easy breast feeding. i'd really appreciate some advice if there's a remedy?

Response:

They do need to be prewashed several times and this should remove pilling of the fabric.

Only ones worth bothering with
Thursday, 24 July 2014  |

These work very well, they wash very well, very absorbant and generally pleasant to use.
Have tried both sizes and like both, the black ones tend to still be fluffy hence four stars, that seems to be the only downside.
