Brand:  Little Lamb

Little Lamb

Little Lamb washable breast pads in my opinion are THE BEST washable breast pads I’ve ever used and I’ve tried many brands over the years of breastfeeding my three children.

So why are they go good.....?

  • They are extremely slim making them discrete in your bra and under clothing. You’ll have no more telltale round outlines under clothes even with fitted tops.
  • They are lined with a breathable PUL coating to ensure you don’t get any leaks. Many of the washable breast pads I tried didn’t have a waterproof layer at all. Once these other pads were saturated the milk would begin to seep through to your bra and clothes.
  • They are made of incredibly soft and super absorbent bamboo which holds more liquid than traditional cotton pads.
  • Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal reducing the risks of yeast infections.
  • The diameter of the pads is 11cm or 13cm so they will not slip about or peek out of your top. 11cm are the average size however for more well endowed ladies (lucky you) 13cm offer better coverage and higher absorbency.

Simply pop these into your bra and position centrally over your nipple. They are highly absorbent and even with my strong milk let down I never needed to change them due to them being saturated. In the first few months of breastfeeding I did change them during the day purely for hygiene but over time as my milk flow began to settle down they were perfect for all day use. I also used these for managing night time leaking too.

I wash them with my normal household washing at either 30 or 40deg and dry them on an airer over night. You may find putting them into a small mesh laundry bag helps prevent them getting separated or lost in with other washing.

The breast pads come in packs of 5 pairs and are tied together with a ribbon to reduce packaging. You will need between 5-10 pairs depending on your milk let down and your washing frequency.

Impressive!

I switch to washable breast pads mostly due to cost but having used these the real benefit is comfort. They are so soft against my nipples. There were concerns that they wouldn't as absorbent or would leak but neither of these things have been an issue. I have been recommending them to everyone.

Reusable breast pads

These are comfortable and absorbent and generally keep clothes dry.
I had to buy the larger ones after the smaller size kept failing me overnight. These are much better although still slip whilst asleep on occasion. The extra area covered with the 13cm pads helps to prevent this. I now use them day and night and don't bother with the 11cm ones at all (I'm a 36DD at the moment)
The little label rubs if not tucked against the pad. I'd like to cut it off, but that is how you tell if you have them in the right way round!

soft, comfortable & wash well.

I have these breast pads and some other bamboo pads with PVC backing. These pads are slightly smaller and so don't wrinkle up as much as the others. I don't have a huge amount of leakage and these have absorbed really well with nothing coming through onto the bra (which I was surprised about as they have no backing). Because they have no backing they are more pliable & comfortable.
I would definitely buy again. ose these

Not so impressed

Quite expensive for the product as felt I needed two packs to not run out. Also they haven't been particularly useful because even after 3 washes, they're still leaving fibres on my nipples so I'm having to wipe myself with a damp cloth before I can feed my baby. I therefore haven't been using them at night when I tend to feed in semi dark and so can't access a damp clothso easily or see to check I'm clean.
They are very soft though and comfortable. They hold a surprising amount of milk before they leak which is great. They also stay in place really well.

Stick with them

Oh my gosh, I found these pads so annoying when I first started using them - black fluff in and around my little one's mouth after many washes (even after I thought I'd defluffed my boobs before feeding) and lots of leaks for the first month or so. However, disposables made me itchy initially and so I kept coming back to these and now (several months later) I think they're great - very little fluff coming off them, they're more absorbent (& I'm less leaky), they stay in place reasonably well (so much better than Boots own reusables - avoid) and are very comfortable (they don't rustle like disposables & I rarely notice they're there). Would recommend getting 2 packs.

Washable Breat Pads

They're great. I change them once a day and they keep me feeling dry and not leaking onto my clothes! It took a good few washes to stop bits of fluff making my baby look like she had a beard after her feed!
