Nappy Overview

Blueberry Side Snapped nappy is a SIZED option so you change sizes as baby grows. This means you reduce the bulky stage of a nappy and you get the best fit. The side snapped (poppers) also help reduce little fingers trying to take the nappy off.

The Blueberry Side Snapped isn't as popular as the Birth to Potty Simplex or Pocket options by  Blueberry but the nappy does have a growing following with parents who find the side snaps suit their baby better.  We do consider this more of a niche nappy than their more mass market options.  This doesn't mean it's any better or worse than the others it just fits a smaller customer base.

The Blueberry Side Snap is an all in one nappy while also offering the adjustability of a pocket nappy as more boosters can be added out of the way in the pocket.

How do I use it?

The nappy has pocket openings on both ends that allows you to easily add the extra absorbency/boosters.  This also enables any extra stuffed-in doubler or insert to agitate itself out in the wash.  However if you find that the inserts aren't self ejecting in your washing machine that you take them out before washing to ensure thorough cleaning.  In the core nappy absorbency half of the soaker pad is attached, while the other half also comes out through one of the pocket openings during the washing cycle.  The result is a nappy that is thoroughly cleaned inside out and dries faster.

Nappy Fabric

It is made with a waterproof outer layer and 12 layers of 100% organic cotton twill fabric in the wet zone.

The organic cotton and birdseye cotton fabric used for all Simplex nappies are certified according to OEKO-TEX Standard 100 class 1 since 2017. This voluntary, third party certification indicates that the fabrics have been tested according to the OEKO TEX Standard 100 requirements that they do not contain harmful levels of over 300 chemicals conidered to be dangerous to a baby's health such as residual pesticides, carcinogenic dyestuffs, phthalates, lead, heavy metals and formaldehyde. The OEKO-TEX Standard 100 reflects the latest advances in textile chemistry, up to date medical knowledge and the current state of textile product safety regulations.

Blueberry Care Guide

  • Prewash nappy once before first use.
  • Remove all solid waste before washing
  • Remove any inserts from covers s they can thoroughly washed
  • Don't overload your machine.
  • Put through a rinse cycle before the main wash
  • You can wash at 40 or 60 deg using a full dose of detergent
  • Use a long cotton wash. Nappies love a long wash
  • No harsh stain removers or bleach.
  • No fabric softeners. They will reduce absorbency.
  • Ideally line dry or tumble dry on warm.

Blueberry Warranty

Blueberry products have a 1 year warranty from date of purchase, not first use. if you believe you have a faulty product please contact The Nappy lady with details of the problem and photos and we'll liase with Blueberry for you and arrange a replacement if appropriate.

Blueberry warranty covers: Product stitching, seams, elastics and any of the product's components including snaps, hook & loop closures, and fabric holes discovered immediately upon receipt of the item.

What it doesn't cover: Leaking, odour issues, fading, staining, repelling and normal wear and tear which includes any of the following issues that appear after 90 days of use: holes and tears in the fabric, elastic loosening and stitching that comes loose. It also doesn't cover hand me downs. The warranty applies to the original purchaser only.

Diamonds are forever. Nappies aren't.
Blueberry nappies are remarkably durable but they aren't indestructable and like any other clothing item they will eventually show signs of wear and tear and may not withstand being used and washed several times a week for extended periods of time. But they will last longer if you take care of them properly and that part is your responsibility. They won't cover an item caused damage by improper care, abuse, misuse, normal fading or normal wear and tear of the product materials.

The warranty is also void when washing intsructions haven't been followed and/or the following have been used;
Fabric softeners
Vinegar
Any other caustic substances
Laundry additives
When Subject to water or drying temperatures ocver 60deg

I bought this because of the print! It’s a good nappy and no leaks but my others are adjustable sizes and this one won’t last as long. Very cute though and organic cotton

I have only really used simplex and few other preloved a since my baby was born and I live simplex but trying side snaps I really loved the fit for him can recommend enough; will
Have to try and swap some out! Service/delivery always amazing as usual from TNL x

These are great daytime nappies. Poppers on the side make them even easier to use that their Simplex version, however, these are sized and you will need to purchase more of these compared to from birth to potty ones. Absorbance is good and containment (which is average) can be easily increased with boosters (we use bamboo folded in half for the nappy front for our boy). Drying time - average, we line dry them after a wash at 40 or 60 (soiled) every other day. Prints are lovely, have not noticed any fading over time. Highly recommended easy daytime nappy.

Beautiful fit for tall toddler

I’ve struggled with getting a comfy fit with the Wizard Uno due to my toddler being so tall and wriggly so I tried these as I love the idea that the snaps were like airflows. The large fit beautifully and quickly and they rarely leak for us. They dry pretty quickly too.

Love the side snaps! I wasn’t convinced that we wouldn’t get any leaks as it looked like the inside was too close to the waterproof. However, I’ve been really pleased with it - especially as you add in an additional booster with ease. Have only used a handful of times as I’ve not had it long but so far, so good.
