Little Lamb One Size Pocket

This is the fabulous Version 2 Little Lamb One Size pocket nappy. It is an extremely cost effective nappy and available at a very reasonable price which helps in these tough times.

You will find lots of cheap pocket nappies online at ridiculously low prices, but these are often made abroad and may not meet EU safety standards. With Little Lamb Onesize, they are a well known and trusted UK brand, with a great reputation. These nappies are made in Turkey and conform to all EU regulations and have fabric Oeko Tex safety certification. This means the Little Lambs Onesize have poppers securely fastened to the nappies at the safety levels required for baby clothing. All parts of fabric production and product manufacturing are chemically safe and conform to the highest stipulated safety standards required for baby clothing. Are you sure that cheapy unbranded nappy offers your baby the same?

Sizing

Little Lamb OSFA nappies fit from approx 10-35lbs. They are a fairly generous length so a good option for taller babies, but may come up a bit long initially on short newborns.

How do I use it?

A pocket nappy gets its name from the pocket/pouch created between the outer waterproof layer and the inner fleece lining. The absorbent inserts are placed into this pocket. The nappy comes with two large Little Lamb booster pads made from bamboo. As both pads are a large size this is why I recommend this nappy from 10lbs rather than birth. Each Little Lamb booster holds approx 97ml so how many boosters you need to use depends on the baby: some will get away with one for a while, some will need two and some might need boosting with additional boosters. Alternatively some people just have a few more nappies as they are so cheap anyway and then just change more frequently. Changing more frequently is always a good thing anyway!

We do not expect the nappies to last more than one baby. If you're on a tight budget (and many people are nowadays), you want a modern pocket nappy but can't afford the more expensive premium brands such as Blueberry or Charlie Banana then this nappy will allow you to cloth nappy at a very reasonable price.

Read our article for more information and photos on how to adjust one size nappies.

Nappy Fabric

The nappy is fully lined with a super-soft microfleece that draws away moisture to the inner insert protecting baby's skin. The elastic is super soft to prevent chaffing baby's skin. Little Lamb have gone to great lengths to find an American -made elastic that with proper laundry care will last.

The bamboo inserts that come with this nappy are fairly thin so are lower absorbency than some other bamboo inserts and nappies. I would expect to boost the nappy for an older toddler, or to replace one of the inserts with a more absorbent one such as a hemp insert or the Little Lamb trifold inserts.

What else do I need?

The nappy comes with everything you need, but you can add paper liner if you prefer, for ease of cleaning a dirty nappy.

I would also recommend you use a two part nappy for night times such as the Bumble or Bamboozle Stretch and Motherease wrap. The second insert would make a good night time booster with these nappies.

Little Lamb Care Guide

Store dirty nappies in the nappy pail, separating any washable boosters, inserts or liners and closing the Velcro tabs over on themselves.  When you have a load ready, put them in the washer on a 30˚ wash with half the recommended dose of detergent, give them an extra rinse and air dry. That's all there is to it.

Here are a few tips:

- Dry pail the nappies.
- Soiled nappies should be washed regularly. Do not leave soiled nappies for longer than three days.
- Check the Velcro tabs are closed tightly on the nappies. Wash the wraps with the velcro closed but inside out. Boosters and inserts are best removed from pocket nappies prior to washing.
- We advise washing at 30˚.

The above is all most parents need to know but for the few parents who need it we've included the sum of our knowledge below:

Detergent: In our opinion powder detergents dissolve quicker and rinse better leading to cleaner laundry.

Dosage: We advise starting with half the recommended dose of detergent for the load size and water hardness and working up from there. The amount of detergent needed is dependent on load size, machine type and water hardness. Soft water needs less detergent to be effective and hard water needs more - possibly up to a full recommended dose.

Fabric softener: Do not use fabric softener in your nappy wash - it will coat the fibres and inhibit absorption.

Sanitisers: We do not recommend using sanitisers with your nappy wash. Sanitisers will affect the elastic and Velcro components and shorten the life of your nappies.

Drying: Drying nappies in direct sunshine is best. Placing them by, but not touching, a heat source is effective but do not place them directly on radiators as they may scorch. Avoid using a tumble drier where possible; if you do use a tumble dryer make sure it's on the low heat setting. Do not tumble dry wraps or pocket nappies.

Little Lamb Warranty

All Little Lamb products are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for 6 months from purchase, as long as care guidelines have been followed.

Use of the following will void warranty:

  • Nappy sanitisers (Napisan etc.)
  • Bleach, bleaching products (Oxy 10, vanish etc.)
  • Vinegar.
  • Washing soda, borax or bicarbonate of Soda.
  • Fabric softener.
  • Limescale removing  products (Calgon etc)
  • Dishwasher tablets.
  • Ecover, feedback of poor results, difficult to rinse thoroughly leaving residue and causing issues.

Little Lamb's decision on any warranty claim is final.

Great pocket nappy but prefer prefit & wrap
Rating:
03 August 2022  |

Bought these thinking they would be a good simple option for cloth nappies - have found them easy to use and good fit for our LO. but have preferred using pop in pads and wrap style nappies as easier to wash and dry plus wraps can be used multiple times per day making them more cost effective and less washing to do, so more environmentally friendly.

Great reusable nappy
Rating:
03 January 2022  |

This is a great reusable nappy, super soft inner and quick and easy to change on a wriggly baby. The poppers take some getting used to initially but once you have, it's as straightforward as a disposable nappy. The bamboo inserts are slow to dry but the nappy itself dries fast, so with a few more separate inserts it can be ready to use again quickly. Fairly slim fitting overall on my slim baby. By far my favourite reusable nappy to date.

Product has its advantages
Rating:
29 October 2021  |

This nappy s way easier and quicker to put on and it's slimmer fit than the 2 system reusable nappies BUT leak is more frequent and absorbency is limited compared, you need to change nappies frequently. Having said that it's a lovely product, I will use them during the day when my daughter will go to nursery

Lovely nappy

24 September 2021  |

I love the hedgehog, fox and butterfly prints. The nappies are really easy to use and seem really comfortable for my 7 month old daughter. I am using them with the 2 boosters that came with each nappy.

Not as good ay holding liquid as the 2 part newborn little lamb bamboo nappy I had from birth, but they dry much quicker and for about 2 to 3 hours use they are great.

Really wanted to love this as I love that are made locally and OEKO certified. They have leaked a lot for us and I find the poppers hard to use. A shame but I’m sending my unused ones back.

A little disappointed
Rating:
25 February 2021  |

We purchased 5X little lamb one size pocket nappies (various designs) to add to our collection, as we found them to be the best fit for our little guy... the designs are lovely but the nappies seem to be a different shape/fit to the previous ones we have had from little lamb (same sort). These seem bigger (wider), and therefore leak quite regularly, which is a shame. Perhaps the design has changed recently? or the materials?

The Nappy Lady team highly recommended this pocket diaper because of its high quality - I could not agree more! The fit was great for a 5kg baby and the fact that it has natural fibers as boosters - 3 x bamboo inserts make is really absorbent and soft. I really like it and can't wait for baby to wear more!

Quality and Value for money
Rating:
10 January 2021  |

This was the first ever nappy I bought and I'm very happy with it. It's a good day time nappy, haven't had a leak so far and it's slimmer than I thought. It's very good value for money and good quality material, so it's a good option if you're on a budget and want to start using reusable. The material is very soft on baby skin and this was very important to me as my son has eczema.

This style of LL nappy is my favourite of the brands I have. Great fit, really flexible and lovely soft material. Absorbency is good, need changing every 3 hours minimum but I’d say that’s pretty standard. Very easy to wash and dry and can be tumble dried on low, I do this after air drying overnight to keep them nice and fluffy! Lovely prints too!

As soon as I tried Little Lambs pocket nappies I’ve never looked back! They’re made of a very soft comfy material, they seem bigger than the other BTP brands and seem to give a better fit for my almost 5 month old. I never get leaks unless the boosters are completely soaked, even if the nappy isn’t perfectly fitted (ie, when hubby puts it on!). Not as expensive as other brands and very reliable.

Nice slim fit and fast drying.
Unfortunately, though, the inserts do not always stay in place and its absorbency didn’t impress me. I also don’t like the fact that LL makes them in Turkey instead of the UK/EU.

Nice quality pocket nappy with some lovely designs. Comes with two bamboo inserts. They are quite thin but together hold quite a lot although can smell after couple of hours. The inserts and nappy dry quite quickly compared to some mixed inserts. These are a good price pocket nappy.

03 August 2020  |

Lovely prints, nice neat fit with hip snaps. I don't on the whole believe the inserts are absorbent enough for most babies, but they're so slim you can add another couple no problem, or any other brand insert (just saty away from microfibre!) The trifold insert for their sized LL pocket is much more absorbent. A well-designed pocket, good value.

This is slightly stretchier than our other brands of pocket nappies, and seems to come up slightly bigger which is good for our chunky boy. The lining is soft and I really like the flap which covers the back of the inserts in the pocket. I can’t fault it.

Good value but not for us
Rating:
28 May 2020  |

Pros: good value for money, lightweight, slim, pocket dries fast, prefer the poppers vs velcro closure, fleece lined so tends to be dry for the LO.
Cons: leaking often; the 2 thin bamboo inserts are - fiddly to insert, slow drying, don't last long for a heavy wetter so additional inserts are needed; LO is tall and this nappy will definitely not fit until potty training; red colour from pocket has transferred onto inserts and other nappies during storage and washing.

One of the best nappies, especially for the price!
Rating:
27 May 2020  |

I cannot fault these nappies. They come with two absorbent inserts, are generously sized, slim and a fantastic price. The pocket is large and easy to stuff with whatever you inserts you like. The nappy itself has a larger waistband so much easier to get a snug fit on a chubby baby. This also means they'll most likely last longer on bigger children.

This is a fantastic pocket nappy which has a super soft lining. The inserts are bamboo which are great for absorption and you can add additional inserts if you have a baby who is a heavy wetter. The prints are truly stunning and I am a huge fan of litlle lamb, which is a great option for anyone on the lower end of the budget scale. The fit is really good and for a birth to potty nappy these are slim fitting if bulk is something you might be concerned about. I highly recommend

Fab economical Onesize pocket
Rating:
29 April 2020  |

These nappies are wonderfully soft and lightweight. They wash up well and dry quickly (inserts take longer). They come up a bit bulky on my 4 month old son - we are still on the smallest length setting so there is extra bulk from the popper fold and they are a bit wider between the legs than other nappies. However, they fit really well and we’ve only ever had leaks from the legs from wicking when he’s had them on too long - 3 hours plus, when we normally change at 2 1/2 hours. The inserts that come with it are soft and fairly thin but don’t last very long with my son. So I tend to use one of them on top of a shorter bambinex triple bamboo towards the front too, or one of them on top of an Ella’s House bum booster - with this option, they are slimmer and we can reduce the waist poppers down for a trimmer fit. Overall a lovely bargain of a nappy. The whale designs are super nice too. I wish they offered more patterned designs.

I've got a couple of these and they are pretty good nappies. We've had the occasional leak from these which we haven't had from more expensive pocket nappies, but these are great for boosting the numbers in your nappy stash and easing the pressure to get the washing done! We use the Little Lamb size 2 fold up inserts which are really great in any pocket nappy.

I bought these to try along with the Thirsties all-in-one and I have to say that I prefer these even though they are half the price!

I use them for daytime and I have never had a leak. I usually use an extra insert (such as a peenut pad) just to increase the absorbency.

I usually prefer velcro to poppers as I find it easier but there are only 2 poppers on each side so it is ok.

I bought these as they have been recommended by a friend's. They are very similar to other brands I've tried, but I find they are a bit more stretchy, so they give a more secure fit. I only wish they came in more prints. Otherwise, I highly recommend them. The 2 bamboo inserts are so soft, even after washing, though I do recommend putting another insert in (I use a mioboost one, which works perfectly)!

I am digging out my OSFA nappies for number 3 and remember reading the first time that they wouldn't last more than one baby! Checking them, elastic still good on 100% and perfectly serviceable if not shiny new.
I did find that for my super weeping second child I had to use more absorbent insertsin the shell after a while but for number one they were fine. I used the shaped little lambs at night so mixed and matched.
The multipacks are such good value, esp. if there's a deal on, even with additional boosters I bought they have been fantastic value for money

This was my first cloth purchase and I bought these as they had been included in our nappy trial and we really liked them. I was a bit apprehensive about them - they’re cheap and I worried about the quality. We now have a few brands in our stash including Bumgenius freetimes, tots bots easy fit star and some cheaper pockets. I love these LL OSFA pockets - they are definitely my favourites. They are so absorbent and are my nappy of choice if we are doing a long car journey. The bamboo is really good at soaking up the wee and they never leak. Will be purchasing more so I can put my son in them more often! Thanks!

I've been using this nappy for my 2 year old and have been quite impressed. It's very soft and he still has plenty of growing room. I pop an extra bamboo booster in as he is a heavy wetter and haven't had any leaks since. They also dry relatively quickly and are super easy to use.

Bought a number of pocket nappies on the cheaper side to try and work out which one was best for us. After a few weeks of use, I have to say Little Lamb onesize outperforms both Bambooty Basics and Bumgenius Joy Elemental. Easy to use, fewer leaks, comes with boosters, and has a little flap on the back pocket to help the booster stay in.

These nappies are easy to put on and have a good amount of stretch in them so the fit around the leg is great. Single gusset so they occasionally leak but this is rare. Bamboo inserts are excellent and dry within a day on a drying rack. Covers dry incredibly quickly. A great nappy for use during the day.

I was sceptical about this nappy till my sister tried them and thought they were good. Much better than my elemental joys and every bit as good as my little lamb sized pockets. Keep my little one dry for 3 hours although i use the sized pockets insert plus one of tje ones provided in the nappy, fairly easy to put on the trick is to do the lower popper first then the two upper poppers. Overall fab and an absolute bargin at £6 would happily have these asy only daytime nappy.

Good nappy to bulk out your stash but zi wouldn't want to use them all the time. Excellent value but quality of microfleece and PUL not as good as premium brands. Nappy lies flat when open while other pocket nappies retain the curve due to better elastic arrangement. I'm also not keen on the popper arrangement but it's clear has enough sizing options to fit a long time, as long as it actually lasts that long! No problem with absorbancy over 3 hours and comes with the nice LL fleece liner.

I have lots of bambino mio and bumgenius. They are always so huge looking even on my above average sized baby. The little lambs are a much slimmer fit and look better under his clothing. Bamboo does take longer to dry but you can stuff the pockets with anything you like if you run out of inserts. Not had leaks or containment issues in the past few weeks. I like that there are two lines of poppers for adjusting the leg gussets and waist size separately.

Pretty good nappies, lovely bright colours and nice and trim with the included inserts. Had a couple of leaks but only when I've left him in them a bit too long and they've become saturated. We can generally get a couple of hours out of them though, and of course as they are pockets we can add extra boosters easily. The inner fleece goes a little bobbly after washing, it's probably not as good quality as the bumgenius pocket we have, but no real problem and great value.
