Real Nappies for London Online Checkout
1. When you place your order please enter your voucher details and voucher amount in the comments box underneath where you enter your delivery address - THIS DOES NOT TAKE THE MONEY OFF YOUR BASKET AUTOMATICALLY.
2. Then pay the full value of your order via credit/debit card or paypal.
3. Next email us a copy of your RNFL voucher (we have to print them off to be reinbursed). The value of your RNFL voucher will be refunded back to you as soon as we receive your voucher (normally within an hour if you order while we're in the office).

Alternative RNFL Over the phone Checkout

Alternative RNFL Cheque Checkout
On the website you can choose to pay via cheque and send us a cheque for the balance of the order made payable to The Nappy Lady Ltd and send along with your RNFL voucher to the address below.  Your order will be dispatched once your voucher has arrived and your cheque has cleared.

Devon

The Devon Real Nappy Project offers free information and advice to parents who are interested in finding out about choosing and using real nappies.

The main aim of the project is to raise awareness about the alternatives to disposables, so that parents feel able to make an informed choice.

Our feedback suggests that providing free trial kits is one of the best incentives we can offer as many parents want to use real nappies but are worried about buying the wrong type. The trial kits have proved successful with around 70% of parents going on to use real nappies full or part time.

As a further incentive, parents in Teignbridge*, Torbay, South Hams and Plymouth can benefit from a 20% discount to help with their first purchase of real nappies. *Parents in Teignbridge must borrow a trial kit first.

Orkney

Orkney’s Real Nappy Scheme is a partnership between Orkney Islands Council, the Balfour Hospital Maternity Unit and Home-Start Orkney which aims to convert the Maternity Unit to using real nappies and to increase the visibility and awareness of real nappies throughout Orkney.

To achieve and support this, the Scheme is offering incentive packs of real nappies to all new and expectant parents on the islands or a cash back alternative to parents already using real nappies. More information on how to register for these incentives can be found on www.orkney.gov.uk.

The Scheme also has two nappy library kits showing the main types of real nappies available, which are a useful resource to increase awareness about real nappies.

It is hoped that a voluntary nappy network will be set up to continue the work of the Scheme beyond 2007.

Surrey

If you live in Surrey you can access a Real Nappy trial kit, completely free of charge! Test a whole range of Real Nappy types and styles at home, on your baby and make the best decision on which nappy to use.

What's in a kit?

There are 24 trial kits available in Surrey and each one holds everything you need to road test Real Nappies on your baby. There are a range of Real Nappy types including flat nappies, shaped nappies, pocket and all-in-one nappies. We also include waterproof wraps, flushable and washable liners, washable wipes, nappy soak, wet bags, a laundry mesh and a nappy bucket. We are unable to guarantee a specific brand of nappy but all of the main types will be covered and so you will be able to make an informed choice based on the trial.

How will I know how everything works?

Each kit is managed by a trial kit host(Wendy Richards The Nappy Lady is oneof the hosts)who will explain to you everything that is in the kit and how to use it. There will also be a DVD, information leaflet and guide in each kit so if you can't remember anything when you get home you will have some tools to help you.

You can also give the Go Real team a call at any time during your trial for advice on 0800 328 8175 it is free to call them and they can make sure that you talk to someone who has used Real Nappies themselves. Alternatively you can email them your query to: advice@goreal.org.uk.

When is the best time to have a trial?

This will really depend on personal preference and demand on the kits but most people, particularly if it is their first baby, like to get comfortable at home with their baby before trialing Real Nappies. The kits contain nappies that are suitable from about 4 weeks up to around 12 months and due to demands on the kit we will only be able to let you borrow the kit once your baby is born, but you are welcome to register your interest prior to the birth and your nearest trial kit host will take a note of your contact details and due date so that they are able to see when you might need the kit. if you want to find out more about Real Nappies before having the kit you can order a free information pack or attend an event near you.

The kit will be lent out to you for three weeks and it is a good idea to make sure you have time to get the most out of the trial period, although using Real Nappies isn't difficult, as with anything new you do have to make some adaptions and you want to make sure that you are able to try all the different types, you might be surprised by the type you end up choosing.

How do I get a Kit?

photo of trial kit

All you need to do is ring Go Real free of charge on 0800 328 8175 or email us at advice@goreal.org.uk. We will then put you in touch with your nearest trial kit host. Alternatively you can find the one closest to you using the map below and give them a call directly. You will need to arrange to pick up the trial kit from the host and when you meet up they will arrange a time for you to bring back the kit. Once your trial is completed Go Real will contact you to get some feedback on how you found the service and to find out whether you intend to use Real Nappies.

If you live near Farnham Surrey (GU9) Wendy Richards will be your local trial kit host and can be contacted direct on wendy.richards@thenappylady.co.uk

There is a map on the GO REAL site (link below) of where all the kits are. http://www.goreal.org.uk/surrey/trial-kits
