Disana Wool Velcro Nappy Wraps

Our Price:  £15.99

Brand:  Disana
Drying Speed:  Fast
Material:  Merino Wool
Made In:  Germany

Disana Wool Wraps are made from 100% organic merino wool which has been prewashed and slightly felted. The wrap fastens with Aplix (Velcro) making it easy to use and adjust. There is additional wool lining sewn into the middle section to give you further absorbency where it's needed most.

The way it works is that the wool absorbs any leaks from the nappy underneath which are then neutralised by the natural lanolin in wool.  If the wrap gets damp, then just hang it out to dry. If the wrap gets soiled or starts leaking, then you will need to wash it and relanolise as below.

Disana Wool wraps are sold unlanolised. Please lanolise before first use to waterproof the wool or they will not work.   We recommend doing this three times before use to create a great "barrier" but, to be honest, most people don't. You will need to repeat about once a month. Full details below.

Size Guide
Lanolising will cause the nappy wrap to shrink slightly we have accounted for this in the sizes below, the sizes we give vary from the official sizes Disana suggest.

Please note that under EU labelling regulations, stating the type of wool is not allowed, only a statement of "100% wool"  is allowed. However, this wrap is organic Merino wool. Merino wool is very fine, soft and springy and not itchy as many people imagine wool to be.

Washing Disana Wool Wrap
Disana's organic Merino wool is a very soft fabric so care must be taken when washing. Disana recommends hand washing or machine washing on a 30C wool programme but never any hotter than 30C.  Use a Diana's wool shampoo which is designed to protect and replenish wool's natural oils.  To hand-wash your organic Merino wool, dilute your wool detergent in cool water, max 30C (lukewarm only, should feel coolish), in a bowl.  Add your woollens to the bowl, gently stirring and squeezing the detergent through. Rinse using water at the same temperature, otherwise your wool will be subjected to "shock" and might felt up. So lukewarm/coolish at 30C again.

DO NOT: Don't wring, soak, brush or rub vigorously as the wool fibres may be damaged and your garment may felt up and shrink. Just squeeze the water through.

To dry, gently squeeze water out and wrap your wool clothes in a towel to remove the excess water.

Air-dry naturally avoiding direct heat. So, hanging on a drying rack over the bath is good, or on a clothes horse, or flat on a dry towel. Mine often end up over the back of chairs or on the washing line (I haven't had a problem with the the heat of the English being too hot, yet!).

Re-shape while damp.

Disana wrap
Thursday, 7 November 2019  |

we tried one of these in age 9-18 months on our average 15 month old as normally use the Disana pull ons over night. Our poor lo couldn't bend as the Velcro strip is so wide and she wondered what had happened ! the Velcro on side wings rubbed her thighs aswell - bad design for Disana as normally their wooly stuff is fab, It was huge and looked weird, So a complete waste of money.

Love this product

It took me a while to get round to lanolizing the cover but now I have I find wool much nicer to use than the other wraps we were using. They are breathable and also less washing which I know sounds odd, but the lanolin works really well for keeping the wraps smelling fresh. No leaks yet and we have used at night several times. Also we did have one poo which I thought would stain but it came out easily just using soap.

Sadly not for us
Thursday, 10 May 2018  |

I chose this style as I'd already had the shorties and loved wool covers, but we were struggling getting the shorties on and off. I thought this style would work better. Sadly it just doesn't fit around the nappies we have and leaks every time, despite lanolising and extra boosting. I think it's just the way it fits on my baby. The velcro is really strong, which I was surprised at, expecting the more modern softer style. The quality is great, but the fit just didn't suit us.
