Works as expected would definitetly purchase again

I wanted to write a review on these because I can totally see why they might not seem very good at first, but with a little bit of trial and error they work great with our breastfed baby and have really paid off for us.

I was keen to use reusable nappies due to environmental concerns and picked these because they would be the easiest to dry all year round, being able to completely separate the inside from the wrap (and are also a bit less expensive than other one piece nappies for a full set). After a bit of research I have been using the angel fold with a liner and securing with a nappy nippa before putting the cover on. So far I’ve had no leaks into clothing and the nappies have contained a lot of up the back explosions that would otherwise have got out of a regular disposable (I know this because we disposables for the first few months!). I find that the nappies last for a couple of hours and I put in a booster pad if I want them to go a bit longer. The wraps are good quality and great at containment.

The downsides, then: 1) we couldn’t use them from birth because they just seemed too big and long. We did have a small baby and it took me a while to work out the best way to fold the nappy down to make it shorter without adding bulk.

2) Dirty nappies often leak onto the wrap so you need a few extra, although isn’t a problem if you’re washing regularly. This has improved since using liners that are the full width of the nappy, and the nappies have never leaked onto clothing.

3) it did take some commitment from me to work out the best way to fold and secure the nappy. Just folding it and putting it into the wrap isn’t practical, had I not already bought a set of these I might have given up. Bambino Mio should give some more guidance on this!

4) I haven’t tried, but I wouldn’t risk using these at night - they just aren’t absorbent enough.

All in all, they have their weaknesses and aren’t the easiest to use but now we’ve got used to them they’re convenient and reliable.

Recieved these as a gift (buyer purchased from the nappy lady) along with a small kit of miosolos and it's fairly early days but may update this review down the line. First experience with bambino mio products and not entirely overwhelmed. Cover is lovely and soft and prefolds dry quickly on an airing rack near the heater. A bit bulky on and not the most absorbent of my stash but not the worst either! I saw further down the page another user disappointed that the nappies didn't come with a folding guide-me too! The point was made that most nappy companies don't like to send unnecessary pieces of paper-fair enough and as a reusable nappy and wipes user I definitely applaud that but it's a load of rubbish given that bambino mio are happy to send their kits in a plastic box and then each miosolo nappy or miosoft wrap inside individually wrapped in plastic with a cardboard sleeve inside! Highly frustrating and completely unneeded. Get rid of all the plastic packaging bambino mio and include one sheet of paper with a folding guide on it. Makes a mockery of the company's aim to help the environment. I wonder if the nappy alliance knows about bambino mio's excessive packaging?

We've been trying to use Bambino Mio reusable nappies on - and off for 6 months now. We started using them on our 1 month old baby, but because they are so bulky we found none of her clothes fit and she looked like a sumo - despite being a small baby.

The nappies are fiddly to prepare and leaked poo when our baby was purely breast fed. Now that she is on solids we've found they need changing every 2 hours because the inserts can't absorb much liquid. We've also found the nappy covers are not waterproof and our baby's trousers are often damp.

All in all a faulty product which is a shame as we spent a fortune on their entire kit.

We tried to complain to Bambino Mio but they weren't prepared to comment or provide a refund

no instructions with nappy or prefold, it works for me when I fold it around another booster that is stiffer than the bambino mio one

I really recommend these if you are trying elimination communication (infant pottying). We started EC at 4 weeks and found it really easy to catch poos in the potty, meaning that while our son pooed several times a day when his poo was still runny from exclusive breastfeeding, we only had around one pooey nappy a week, the rest went in the potty. From around six months on he did almost all his poos in the potty. So the containment issues mentioned by previous reviewers weren't relevant for us. We quickly stopped trying to do EC for wees as it seemed like too much work for very little benefit, but we have kept nappy changing/pottying regularly (every two to three hours) so we can catch a few wees at nappy time. In this context, these cheap, quick-drying nappies are ideal for regular changes, with the bonus that they don't take up much space when you're out and about. They dry in 24 hours indoors, which is great if you don't have a tumble dryer or want to avoid using one.

The only downside for us has been that the wraps lasted about a year before they began to lose their waterproofing, which isn't great. We now use the nappies with Blueberry coveralls instead.

I got terrible leaks with these nappies as i was breastfeeding and found the poo got on the wrap each time. My baby poos about 8 times a day so soon ran out of wraps. I changed to terry squares on the advice of the nappy lady and my leaks have stopped. Very happy Mummy and customer. Wish i'd followed Wendy (ultimate nappy gurus) advice in the first place and saved myself wasted money and poo leaks.

I used btp with my first daughter and had containment issues frequently.
I switched to these for my second daughter and they are amazing. So much better than the various btp I used. We hardly ever get leaks, much fewer poo-splosions and they are really easy to wash, dry and fold. I actually find them less of a faff than the btp to use.
I'd completely recommend these to anyone.

I love using these prefolds. I've used them with a breastfed baby from approximately 1 month but will be using from birth with the next child. We have had very runny breastfed poos and with the boy fold and liner we get excellent containment and have only once leaked past the wrap when DS pooed in his jumperoo and bounced it out the leg.
With these prefolds you have the option of a variety of wraps, we have some bambino mio ones as well as a few cheapie btp wraps.
DS was a very heavy wetter and at first the nappies would last 2-3 hours with a boy fold. Now after numerous washes (which increases absorbancy) and at 6 months old I get at least 4 hours wear out of them.
I used to use a nappy nipper when I was getting used to the folds with a wriggly baby, now I prefold them in the drawer ready and carry them around already folded which saves alot of time, and nappy nippers no longer needed.
All in all an excellent economical option for cloth nappies as will last from birth to potty and they will be ready to use for future children.

Despite all the bad press about leaks etc, these nappies are very handy to have at your disposal. To me they are the best for layering at night to minimise leaks and middle of the night changes. They are also extremely good for stuffing pocket nappies when you need extra absorbency (or if, like me, you're just disorganized and cant find the right booster for that particular nappy!)
What I would say if you do go with these is ALWAYS carry at least 2 extra wraps in case of poo. And the wraps that go with these are EXCELLENT at containing my baby's poonamis. Happy nappying x

I have been using these on my now 3 month old baby since birth and I cant fault them, used with the bambino mio wrap they work perfectly and are very easy to use. I have just ordered more of these and would not use anything else. I felt I had to submit this review after reading The Nappy Ladies own review as I really feel it is an unfair description of this nappy.

If I had to build my stash again I would invest mainly in these prefolds. They're very nice, absorbent, soft and the size is excellent. They fit my 8-week-old daughter and my (potty trained) 3-year-old. I'm very happy with these.

I use these with the Bambino Mio wrap. They are a good size for my 3 month old when folded in quarters lengthwise. They have washed well. I prefer this nappy to the Econobum which comes up smaller so can only be folded in thirds thus with less absorbability.

I started using these when my daughter was 11 months as a cheap way to bulk out our stash, surprisingly given the description we love them as they're quick and easy to use and launder.

We have a mix of size 1's that we pad fold to use with Flip covers, obviously the containment isn't great but the absorbancy is excellent and size 2's that we fold (usually bikini twist) and use with a nippa which gives good containment and absorbancy.

Being able to wash at 60 and dry within hours is a huge bonus for us so these work well.

I recently started using bambino mio prefold nappies and wraps after 2 years of using all-in-one nappies and was very surprised. They weren't as bulky as I expected and the wrap was very soft and pliable. The fit from the nappy was superb and it lasted far longer than anything else we'd used. Highly recommended!!!

I do not usually leave reviews but after reading the description of these nappies I felt compelled to give my positive views on them! These nappies were recommended to us by a friend who had used them. They are by far the most affordable on the market. They come in multiple sizes ensuring a great fit, and enabling them to be used from birth (unlike virtually all the birth to potty nappies which are far too big for use on a new born- when the most nappies are used). Containment has been great. In the early stages some poo has escaped from the inner nappy but has been contained by the wrap. As time progresses containment has been fantastic. This just means you need more of the small wrap sizes than the others. My daughter wees loads and this is readily absorbed. The small nappy liner size is compact but the larger one is more bulky (wide). We do not use these at night instead opting for a highly absorbent bamboo two part Lolly Pop nappy.

This is the first and only nappy I've tried. I've found it pretty good, but depending on how well I fold it sometimes it will leak. It doesn't hold as much urine as I thought it would and will sometimes leak though the night, but it gets the job done.
Normally at night I use a booster and I have no problems.

This will get the job done and it does work.
They are also lovely and soft.
