Bamboo Terry Squares 50cm, 60cm &70cm

Bamboo terry squares are more absorbent than cotton therefore providing a lot more absorbency for considerably less bulk. Bamboo is a more fragile fabric than cotton so these have a blend of 50% cotton/50%bamboo so you gain absorbency and strength from the cotton.

Bamboo terry squares are more absorbent than cotton therefore providing a lot more absorbency for considerably less bulk. Bamboo is a more fragile fabric than cotton so these have a blend of 50% cotton/50%bamboo so you gain absorbency and strength from the cotton.

Bamboo is incredibly environmentally friendly and sustainable as it grows so quickly, thrives without the use of pesticides and requires less water than cotton during the growth process. It is also naturally antibacterial making it particularly suitable for babies with sensitive skin.

Bamboo squares come in three sizes, so which do you need?
60cm is the normal birth to potty size and if you only want to buy one size of nappies you must choose the 60cm.
50cm Bamboo squares for people who'd like a very slim nappy on a newborn baby. The 50cm won't last until potty training so you should only consider this size if you're planning on using them only for a relatively short period of time such as before your larger birth to potty nappies fit better or as a cheap size 1 option.
70cm - Large toddlers to adults (if pad folded)

Care should be taken not to dry them directly on top of a hot radiator, or to tumble dry them on a high setting as this may cause shrinkage, or flattening of the pile making the nappies difficult to fasten

The Motherease Air Flow wrap is the best choice over terries but if you are planning to pad fold your terries either occasionally or full time, you will need a gusseted Velcro wrap like the Motherease Rikki.

We sell nappi nippas for use with Terries, and do not sell pins. However, if for some reason you do wish to use pins| please avoid the blunt ones that the high street stores think are a good idea, and try to track down some nice sharp Prym nappy pins.

If you do choose to use terry squares, there are lots of different fold options illustrated in the Nappy Info/Tips section. Don’t think it’s the kite or nothing. We think the Jo Fold is excellent.

We have only found one downside to bamboo nappies and that is that they are relatively slow drying, particularly compared to their cotton equivalents.  However, the bamboo terry squares dry very quickly compared to the shaped bamboo nappies, so if you have fallen in love with the idea of bamboo but have very limited drying facilities then this is your answer.

Bulky and loses softness
Tuesday, 7 November 2017  |

These terries do the job, but they are rather bulky for bamboo and don't retain their softness at all which is a shame. They feel similar to my cotton terries now.

Too bulky and not exact squares
Friday, 11 August 2017  |

I was unable to use as folded nappy as just too bulky once folded. They are also not perfect squares so makes folding neatly tricky. Much softer after washes if tumble dried. Ended up using as towels which is an expensive use for them.

Excellent night time nappy
Wednesday, 3 May 2017  |

We use these on a night with a motherease flow wrap and nappi nippa, I think they are too bulky for day time but have excellent absorbency and are lovely quality, they dry quite quickly on radiator and are quite stain resistant especially once soaked in Napisan.

Very absorbent
Friday, 15 July 2016  |

Great squares, they are more absorbent and softer than my usual terry squares. The only slight downside is that they take a little longer than cotton to dry and i can't just bung them in the tumbler with my usual Terries for a quick dry. I would recommend these for night nappies with a good wrap.

They seem very bulky and thick when compared to other bamboo Terry square not really a problem . Excellent for absorbing hold up over night no problems when using the right fold .a little slow to dry but not as bad as most other nappies . All in all very cheap good bed time nappy

Really absorbent
Wednesday, 9 September 2015  |

I love these terries slimmer than my cotton ones yet they absorb more they Keep their shape after being washed, you have to be very careful if using a nappy nipper not to pull the little loops but this isn't a big issue I use the angle wing? Fold and I use a blueberry coverall in the day which makes a very trim nappy and mother ease airflow cover at night because my toddler is a heavy wetter I use 2 terries folded in the kite fold, folded as one together and this lasta 12 hours easy.

Disappointing
Tuesday, 7 July 2015  |

I'm really disappointed with these. They are really stiff and bulky on my little one no matter how I fold them. They are not soft at all. They do dry quickly and are handy to have around but are unusable for us as nappies. I will try again when she is bigger but at the moment we are stuck with disposables as my 50cm terries are too small for her.

stiff
Tuesday, 30 June 2015  |

I found the same as the first reviewer. These go really stiff very quickly in my hard water area and I don't have a tumble drier. After a while my cottons went really stiff as well. I used to use flats all the time, but now I always use my little lambs.

Very absorbent
Thursday, 11 June 2015  |

Very nice quality. Too big when folded for a comfortable fit on my 3 month old but think they will be great in a few months time.

When I used them at night they were considerably dryer than my other Terry squares in the morning. So great absorbency.

I had the same issue with them getting a bit crispy after washing but this seems to have settled down again.

Generally pleased...
Thursday, 14 May 2015  |

I bought the terry squares after being talked into it by my mother - for flexibility of sizing/use over a shaped reusable after having used and liked using the cotton Muslinz for our newborn. Generally I am pretty pleased. Beautifully soft on opening, the only minor detraction at this point was that one of the nappies overlocked edge had not been properly finished and was fraying. I have experimented with folds, using both newborn and Gaynor's. I am currently using them with the Motherease airwrap, which doesn't leak when I attach the nappies, but occasionally does when my partner does - he reckons this is down to his lack of expertise in folding and putting them on our baby. However, usually I can get up to 12hrs overnight using these and a booster without leaks. Baby is now nearly 6months, and I'm hoping that as she grows, the terry squares will continue to be flexible in their fit and so continue to be a good investment.

Great for heavy wetters

Bought these for my heavy wetting little girl and they're great, I don't need to boost then and if folded correctly can look nice and slim too.

Can't believe they're bamboo
Friday, 17 October 2014  |

I bought these after the Nature Babies ones assuming they'd be the same. They are not!
They are probably okay if you have a tumble dryer but I don't so they became really rough and stiff after being line dried.
Bamboo is supposed to be soft but these are like putting sandpaper on your baby!

Response:

We discontinued the nature babies ones due to continued feedback that they shrunk too much. These are a denser bamboo fabric, it's more heavy weight and is woven in a way to prevent shrinkage and hold onto more fibres long term.
