We find it hard to dry nappies so these are great, much faster than fitted nappies or even prefolds. Lovely and soft and absorbent

Absorbent and quick drying Thursday, 6 December 2018 | Christina
I bought these as a cheap option to 'tide me over' while I figured out what nappies would suit me and my little man best, but they've actually become my nappy of choice! The different folds take some practice but make these nappies amazingly versatile. You can get the absorbency (and lots of it) exactly where you need it, and they also dry really fast.
A couple of things to watch for:
- The white took on a yellow tint from the first wash, thanks to breastfeeding poo, but hanging in the sun gets them white again.
- Velcro wrap fastenings caught the threads on the nappy really easily at first, but that happens less the more the nappies are washed, and wouldn't be an issue at all with popper-fastened wraps.

I was skeptical at first, and even when they arrived I was a bit like "oh no, have I just wasted money on something that I can't and will never use?" But they are really great, they last and last, which I was surprised about. We got stuck in traffic on the way to the in laws and I obviously couldn't do a nappy change for longer than I would have wanted to. Carefully picked my daughter out of the car seat expecting her to be soggy but not even a drop! The nappy had absorbed every last bit. Bulky, but you get used to that, and actually makes her look cute!

Am using these for animals rather than humans, but that means they need to be very tough, washable and reusable. I'm delighted with the quality and softness.

Effective, versatile and quick drying Friday, 3 August 2018 | Elizabeth
I really like these nappies. I've used them from a couple of weeks old ~8lbs. They are bulky at first but my daughter didn't seem bothered by this.
The challenge with them is finding the right fold for your baby's size, and this does change. I've used the Jo fold, the Neat fold and the Gaynor fold, and they've all been great and we haven't had any leaks that escaped the wrap (rikki). The downside to these nappies is that it's harder to have other people change nappies because it takes a while to learn.
We have to dry indoors and these dry overnight on a warm day, or at worst within 24hrs in the winter.

These are ok, but not as good as I expected. They aren’t a perfect square which is frustrating when folding! They are also thinner than I thought they would be. However, they do the job and are reasonably priced.

My wife is wheelchair bound as a lower limb amputee and we use the nappies for lining the top of the pressure relief cushion. They are excellent quality and first class service from the Nappy Lady.

Great quality cotton terry squares. They wash well and keep their shape better than muslins. Absorbancy is good with the right fold but the real advantage is the drying time. I bought them to back up my nappy supply when the weather is bad as our only drying option is outside line drying. They dry in 30 minutes outside or a couple of hours inside.

Really like these, lovely and soft and absorbent and much easier to use than I'd expected. These with an airflow wrap are my go to. I also like to use one with a wool wrap for overnight. Totally adjustable, I liked learning all the different folds. Only issue with flats compared to fitteds I have found is the lack of leg elastic means runny poo usually gets onto the wrap, although so far never beyond that! They are just SO easy to clean and quick to dry though!

Agree with the customer above. I had Harringtons Terry squares in the 80s and these are nothing like, they don't exist these days.

The item is described as suitable from newborn - well it isn't. By the time you fold thus nappy, is so bulky that isimpossible to lay your baby flat, their bottom is much higher than should be. Also it is so bulky that no newborn clothes fit on it. I am looking forward to the time when baby grows so we can use these as so far this purchase was a waste of money, really disappointed.

Response:
So sorry you've not liked the fit of terry squares. Terry Squares have been used for generations of babies and these are no different. They are the same great material our mothers used (Harrington Gold for any Grannys reading this) and the same birth to potty size 60x60cm. Cloth nappies are bulkier than disposables but remember the bulk is actually better for babies hips and all the rubbish disposables have fed us about needing to be slim for activity is actually worse for babies hip development. Have a read of our article on hip positioning. If you have a very small baby then any birth to potty will be disproportionally large follow our advice and use folded muslins until baby is closer to 10lbs. We have lots of articles and videos on folded muslins. Your terry squares will fit up to 35lbs so you'll get plenty of wear out of them so not wasted money. If you need more help or reassurance on the fit and folding of your nappies please email us and we'll be happy to check your folds from photos.
Excellent product, excellent service Wednesday, 28 February 2018 | Josephine
I ordered a lot of nappies, liners, breast pads, plastic pants etc for my daughter's first baby, due very soon. Being of an older generation, I found the Nappy lady website very helpful in guiding me through the vast range of products available these days! The nappies I ordered seemed a little thinner than mine of 30 years ago, but still substantial and also beautifully soft even after washing without fabric conditioner.

I find these to be very good quality nappies as an adult bedwetter who is fed up with disposables due to their lack of security and comfort at night. Folding a 70 cm square into a 3 layer rectangle is ideal size to act as a booster to the adult Bambinex wrap, or for a more traditional approach use two nappies folded to give a 6 layer soaker pad inside a pinned on shaped thinnish nappy that I had from another supplier, all covered by adult sized plastic pants. The advantage of this as an adult is that you can boot absorbancy bit still have "easy to launder and dry" single layer nappies which in my opinion are more comfortable and reliable than the disposables on the market. Yes they are bulkier and it may seem a "babyish" solution but they are effective at the task of keeping the bed dry.
Good quality and great service and advice when I ordered and discussed my needs with Wendy. She was empathetic to the fact that it isn't just little ones that need the protection of nappies.

I use these for catching possets and other leaks of general bodily fluids, and rubbing posset off the carpet/ my clothes. They've been in use 4 months. They're basically what I wanted, but either the hems are coming undone or the threads that make the loops have somehow unravelled and so there are long threads for baby to get tangled in...

I bought the terry squares having previously used the small bamboo flats on my newborn. They're not as absorbant but dry quickly and are reasonaby easy to use. They only downside is they arent absorbant enough for nighttime but work well with a folded muslin.

I use these with a simple kite fold for my 2yo and 11mo and never have any leaks and if I jelly roll I very rarely get poop on the wrap. They was really well haven't had any staining at all so really good product.

Lovely fluffy squares with lots of absorbency - I wish I'd started with Terry squares first instead of more expensive nappies! The folding videos on YouTube were also helpful.

Soft, absorbent, versatile Friday, 1 April 2016 | Ellie
Decided to give terry squares a go after trying various other nappies and getting problems with leakage. The great thing I've found with the terries is you get a custom fit to your baby and they are so versatile. We usually get 2.5 hours max out of a pocket or all in one but have been up to 4 hours with these when napping (without boosters) and to be honest could've kept it them on even longer than that! We are now using them full time in the day and I really wish I hadn't been so frightened of them in the beginning.

In preparation for having my son, we bought flat terry square nappies, which have done the job well enough. My mum came to visit and commented on the poor quality of the nappies, compared with the ones she used to use so I bought one of these from the Nappy Lady to see if it was any different and it is a much nicer, thicker, softer nappy, which will last much longer than the ones I originally bought.

Get them out in the sun the yellow will be from the poo. Sun light will quickly and naturally bleach them back to white.

Perfect size for nappies. Really easy to use once you know how. YouTube has helpful videos. Also really handy as changing mat covers, burp cloths, bath towels, etc. Can do everything a muslin does and thicker so no spills but not so easy to carry around in a changing bag.

great value and performance Thursday, 23 October 2014 | Vanessa
i use terries with bambinex liners and motherease airflow wraps during the day, and usually get through about 8 per day. these are really soft and absorbent, and wash and dry really quickly. they keep their shape really well too. occasional leakage depending on how well i've put them on, but generally perform really well. really good value for money option, as long as you don't mind all the folding.

These are brilliant terry nappies, they are super soft and absorbent and wash so well, drying in no time at all.
I ordered lots of these terries so that I have enough to use as extra towels/sick up cloths etc.

I brought these because I couldn't get hold of any zorbit nappies, which I used 5 years ago with my so. They aren't much cheaper, but the quality isn't a patch on them. I've washed them about 3 or 4 times so far and they are already losing their shape and have strands coming off. These are not going to last very long. Disappointed.
