Motherease Airflow is a popper fastening PUL (polyurethene laminate) wrap that is leak proof but refuses to compromise on breathability! The fabric is soft, durable and waterproof.

Sizes

The Motherease airflow comes in 6 sizes but most people only need 2-3 sizes birth to potty.

XS 6-12lbs (trim cut)*
Small 6-12lbs*
Medium 10-20lbs
Large 20-35lbs
XL 35lbs+
(Med/Large 20-27lbs  - This size is now discontinued by Motherease)

*Note that the XS/Small sizes poppers towards the front for ease of use when changing a small baby, whereas the larger sizes popper towards the back.

What's So Special about the Air Flow?

The poppers are at the legs and waist on each side, and there are a number of different settings. Because of the separate leg and waist fastening, it has excellent adjustability for the child whose legs and waist are not in perfect proportion to each other. With a Velcro wrap, if your child has thin legs but a fat waist, the wrap may have to be closed too tightly at the waist to give sufficient containment at the legs, or vice versa. This is not the case with the Air Flow wrap.

The airflow is secured with adjustable poppers at the waist and legs openings and has an air ventilation system between the poppers. This allows for maximum air circulation as baby moves, reducing the risk of bacteria by keeping the temperature of the cloth nappy down. The ventilation system makes it the most breathable PUL wrap on the market by far. You think it somehow “ought” to leak, but I can assure you it doesn’t. Very cunning design.

Another advantage of the Air Flow is that the side-positioning of the poppers makes it virtually childproof! The trouble with Velcro-fastenings, as with disposable nappies, is that your child can easily undo them - and the tougher the Velcro, the more tempting it is for them. You can almost hear them saying “Look, Mummy, a toy on my tummy...” Not all children are manic un-fasteners, but if you have one of those, you’ll find popper wraps a far less frustrating option, unless you want your child to wear dungarees on a permanent basis!

As the poppers are at the side of the wrap it is perfect for children with sensitive skin as there is no velcro to catch or snag on. For tummy sleepers there are no poppers at the front of the nappy to press into their skin either!

There are no gussets in the wrap which makes the legs holes larger than on other wraps. The legs holes of the airflow are designed to be LOOSE and not fitted snug to the skin. This is again to make the nappy more breathable but also so little legs on the move don't get chaffed. The airflow is especially good for chubby legs allowing them plenty of room.

Why does it look like "granny pants?"

It is a very baggy wrap, in comparison with Velcro-fastening wraps, and some people don’t like the “puffball” look. However, that’s one of the reasons why it is so reliable, because there is plenty of room between nappy and wrap, minimising the risk of wicking due to a bit of the nappy sticking out anywhere. That’s also one reason why it is an excellent wrap over the bulkiest of night nappies and the best wrap over traditional terry squares.

What nappies can the airflow be used over?

The airflow is pretty much a universal wrap and can be used over virtually every modern shaped nappy.  However because there is no gusset at the legs, the Air Flow is not suitable over prefolds or other fasten-free/ pad folded nappies .... normally. I have known people use it with pad folded prefolds successfully, but only on pretty solidly-built children, because they fill the wrap so much more! It certainly won’t work with your average or skinny child.

Washable at 60 with the nappies, you can also tumble dry it on cool, although to be honest give it a good shake and hang it over a chair, and it will be dry within a few minutes anyway.

The Air Flow wraps I have used on my children have now been in use for 9 years and I have not had a single one ever fail or break.   So reliable on both waterproofing and containment, flexible on fit, childproof, washable at 60 and can be tumble dried .... what do you mean, this wrap is not for you?!!...

Care of Motherease Wraps
The binding on the Motherease wraps are the reason they are so fabulously waterproof so it's important to treat the binding with respect and make sure it can't get caught on velcro etc in the wash.  When washing your Motherease wraps place them in a mesh washing bag separate from anything that could catch on the binding like Velcro to keep them in excellent and reliable condition.

These wraps are absolutely brilliant, I havenít had a single leak since we started using them and my side lying heavy wetter really puts them to the test!
Wish Iíd bought them instead of the peenut wraps to start with as there is no comparison, theyíre even easier to put on than any other wrap.
Make sure you wash in a delicates bag as we used rikki wraps when he was newborn and they got torn to shreds by errant velcro tabs.

Holy Grail!
Thursday, 25 July 2019  |

These wraps are insane! They are the only wraps I can put over fitteds that wonít leak! I had so many miserable wet nights with baby trying to find the right night time solution, also tried to resort back to sposies for a night but that was even more of a disaster! But when I finally got my hands on these they were a game changer. Since using these, we havenít had a single leak. They are beautiful wraps, breathable, foolproof and very versatile, going over any nappy. They are supposed to be baggy and have gaps at the legs, just trust the magic because they really wonít leak. I find the weight range a bit off though, my 14lb baby gets angry marks on her skinny little legs from the medium size sometimes despite having a small gap at the back of the leg on the middle leg setting but fits beautifully in the large. If I could do it all again I would just skip a size and buy XS, M/L and XL to take me to potty training.

Great nappy wrap
Saturday, 22 June 2019  |

I purchased the motherease airflow wraps and also the motherease rikki wraps to see which I prefer. I prefer these airflow wraps. I like how stretchy the elastic is around the middle with poppers and is more comfortable for my baby. The rikki wraps are velcro fastening and makes it hard for my baby to bend, so not very comfortable compared to these airflow wraps! I like how you can adjust the width of the leg opening with poppers also - very useful and have never had any leaks (I use motherease sandys)

Used these on my newborn who was 6lb 6oz at birth. The size small fits so well and is really easy to put on. We're using them over a variety of nappies and they work perfectly. No leaks at all and I feel very confident using them. I'd definitely rate these over the rikki wraps.

These wraps are much thinner than a normal wrap but still have all the quality and reliability of those with much thicker material. They allow air to circulate.
We use these wraps with both Little Lamb and Tiny Tots Bamboozle night time nappies and after a month have had not one leak!... and they are on for 10 hours at night. Highly Recommend!!

The fabric is much lighter and softer then Rikki wraps. No leaks ever. I was worried about the lack of gussett, but they fit well around legs (9 kg -med/large) maybe because the fabric is soft.

Airflow
Thursday, 9 May 2019  |

I was very excited to try the Motherease brand and pleased to get hold of one of the Arizona print Airflows. We havenít had any leaks after a month of use. The side popper fastenings are a bit unusual (my husband had a midnight mard over them) and the cut is quite grandmotherly, although it squashes down so doesnít add any extra bulk. I bought thinking I could use these over folded muslins but that wasnít correct. I find the fine gauze that is around the waistband and legs is extremely delicate - any stray hook and loop in the wash and it gets snagged which starts to make it look a bit scabby. All in all I think theyíre good wraps, but maybe not worth the hype! I much prefer the Thirsties Duo wrap with its double leg gussets.

Mother-ease Airflow Wraps
Friday, 3 May 2019  |

I absolutely love this product. I had been using birth to potty pocket nappies on my slim jim baby and getting lots of leaks and poonamis, including over his clothes.

I made the switch to Terry towelling nappies and after advice from a lady on fb, I bought the Mother-ease Airflow Wraps. They are absolutely brilliant. You can go on the tightest setting on the legs and the middle setting on the waist. I have had 1 urine leak but that was because hadn't cuffed the legs properly. I haven't had poop escape on to clothes but occasionally on the wrap itself.
The wrap is very easy to clean and dries very quickly, just by hanging in the window or above (But not directly on) the radiator.

When he needs resizing, I will be buying another 4 wraps, but obviously a size up. Would recommend these wraps 100%!

Best wrap we tried
Friday, 26 April 2019  |

I tried out 3 different types of wrap when we started using cloth (Airflow, Rikki and Little Lambs). These were the only ones that successfully covered all the different types of nappy I tried, while still keeping a secure seal around the legs. We have never had a leak when using these (although when there is lots of runny, pre-weaned poo sometimes it doesn't matter how great containment is - the poo just oozes everywhere anyway as soon as the wrap comes off and baby starts wriggling!).

Brilliant very versatile wrap
Tuesday, 16 April 2019  |

I got my nappy stash when my eldest was born 2 years ago, and most of my nappies had been used for 2 children before being passed onto us. Since having another baby, our nappies are now on child number 4. I use 2 part nappies full time, and out of all our second hand wraps, the only ones that I can still use with confidence are the Airflows. Therefore, it was a no brainer to replace my old leaking wraps with a couple of new Airflows. I find them very versatile, as they fit over all my nappies (Bumbles, Bamboozles and Little Lambs), unlike some of my other old wraps. They are also very easy to fit. I love the fox design... by far my favourite wrap now!

Testing Airflow- normally use Rikki Wraps
Friday, 5 April 2019  |

Firstly- the prism is a strikingly loud and cheerful print!! I liked the airflow- it fit well on our 8lb at birth son and didnít leak. The fabric and build qualify of motherease products is excellent which is why they are so hard to come by. Have been using cloth for 8 weeks day and night- these wraps on top of Easy Peasy Bumbles firstly with nappy nippers and now the built in poppers and have been nothing but impressed. The bumbles can only do their job if they have a good wrap and Motherease Airflow and Rikki Wraps are fab. How to pick between? Airflow are slightly more bulky than Rikki wraps owing to the poppers vice Velcro however once the babies can open Velcro I can see the poppers coming into their own and Airflows being the first choice. For now- I think they are interchangeable and as good as each other.
Excellent service from the nappy lady and great recommendations- use the questionnaire if you are going to use cloth and really consider your answers. We have no tumble drier and we are loving our reusable nappy choices. Expecting to break even on our investment after 12 months. After that and with subsequent children- it will be free!

I only buy motherease wraps now having tried a few different types over the years. Cannot be beaten for fit and they just don't leak. Bought prism in xs for my newborn but she still has loads of growing room left at 12 weeks as not using largest fitting poppers yet at waist or legs. (And she's nice and chubby!). The prism design is so vibrant and I figured they'd have a good re-saIe value being a print exclusive to nappy lady.

Excellent Wrap
Wednesday, 27 February 2019  |

We have used both this kind of wrap and the Motherease Rikki wrap and I greatly prefer these. First, because there is no velcro (which has been my laundry nemesis) but second, because the snaps are very easy to use and make the wrap easily adjustable at both the legs and waist, a unique feature. The nappy lady suggests only using it over a shaped nappy, which I have done, and it works really well. But I have also used it over prefold nappies (not as a pad fold but fastened with nippas) and it also works really well, even though my boy is small for his age. I love this wrap!

Fab night time wrap

Great night time wrap. I use them over a boosted bamboozle and they work brilliantly. We started off with the rikki wrap in medium and have moved to these airflows for the next size up as my little one was undoing the velcro herself, and I didn't think I would, but I prefer them to the rikki wrap. There's no Velcro to be undone and be careful of when washing and they cover the nappy really well.

No more worrying about leaks!
Monday, 24 December 2018  |

I'd initially bought wool covers for night times, but despite lanolizing them plenty of times , my boy still woke up pretty damp (what was I doing wrong?!) But with the airflow wrap, I use the same amount of boosters and my baby always wakes up bone dry. I love this cover and wish I'd never bothered with wool now! He can wear proper pajamas with it on too, even if he needs them a size bigger! And much less washing to do now he's not waking up damp. If you do most of the poppers up but leave one open on the waist, and then slip it on your baby like a pair of knickers, then it's a lot less fiddly to put on too. I'll definitely be buying another one.
