Popolini Organic Cotton Two Size Nappy Overview

What makes the Organic Cotton TwoSize stand out from other nappies is that it is entirely organic without any polyester at all. Ideal for families seeking pure natural materials.

The Organic Cotton Two Size by Popolini is a nappy with good absorbancy and a good drying time and works for the vast majority of babies no matter their build or height. The Organic TwoSize is a generous fit and offers excellent containment. Because the Two Size (which now actually comes in three sizes!) is a fitted nappy the containment is excellent.

What makes the Organic Two Size stand out from other nappies is that it is entirely organic without any polyester at all. Ideal for families seeking pure natural materials.

Sizing

This Popolini Two Size nappy is available in three sizes.

  • Small 3 - 9 kg (7-18lbs)
  • Large 8 - 15 kg (17-30lbs)
  • XL 14+ kg (33lbs+)

How do I use it?

The nappy is a two part and will require a wrap. The Motherease airflow is the most popular choice or Popolini make their own wraps as well such as the Vento.  The Organic TwoSize fastens with poppers at the side of the nappy which makes it ideal for tummy sleepers.  Fold leg ruffles inwards so they serve as poo catcher.

For night time add an extra nappy booster such as Ellas House Bum Boosters to increase absorbency further.

Nappy Fabric

Made with 100% organic cotton, this is a very popular eco choice and ideal for families looking to entirely avoid polyester.  Often with organic cotton the base weave of the fabric still has polyester content however the Popolini Organic TwoSize base weave is entirely polyester free.

Care Instructions

Washing Popolini cloth nappies is very simple. Rinse in cold water, use your usual detergent and no fabric softener, then a long cotton wash up to 60deg, ideally air dry but you can tumble dry if required.

Popolini Care Guide

  • Wash nappies 3-4 times before first use. Close any Velcro before washing to avoid other laundry getting tangled in the hooks.
  • Store used nappies in a pail for no longer than 2 days (danger of mould!)
  • Nappies can be washed at 95 °C. To save energy we recommend washing them with your normal hot wash at 60 °C. Spin the nappies at 1000 r.p.m. Never use fabric conditioner!
  • Use the tumble dryer at moderate temperatures. Bear in mind that heavy use of the dryer might cause untimely wear of the material.
  • Covers need not be washed after every change; in most cases a cold rinse is sufficient. Wash them once a week in the machine at 60 °C. Never use bleaching detergents. Important: tumble-drying, wringing or drying on the radiator might damage the coating.

After long-term use covers lose their water resistance in the seam areas. The seams can be reconditioned by applying some wool wax or pure lanolin directly on the seam and warm up the area gently with a hair dryer.
Popolini nappies have been designed carefully to last an average of 200 washing cycles if their care guide is followed.

Neat and bombproof
Rating:

I bought one of these on the recommendation of TNL, and am pairing it with a Blueberry Capri wrap. I like the ease of fit and side fastenings - it’s been much easier to get that right than with other front-fastening poppered nappies. It’s been bombproof so far, with no leaks, and containing a couple of explosions. It isn’t the slimmest option but seems so far to be one of the best for containment.

Absorbent and natural

I already knew I loved Sandy's nappies, and these are essentially the same. The organic cotton and European manufacture were selling points for me. They absorb well and keep in all the poo. They are slow drying, but that's fine - I knew they would be.
