Bear Bott Pocket Nappy Overview

The Bear Bott pocket nappy is a customisable nappy system and is sold WITHOUT Bear Bott pocket inserts. This make the system very economical as it allows you to reuse anyabsorbent inserts you already have PLUS gives you total control over the level of absorbency so you can match your babies needs perfectly.

If you are new to reusable nappies or don't have any inserts the Bear Bott Tencel Anchor Inserts are designed to fit perfectly into the nappy and are available to buy separately.

The new 2023 Bear Bott pocket nappy comes with improved thicker back elastic for the ultimate comfortable secure waist fit. The internal double gusset helps to increase containment however this can make solid removal more tricky. The front "stopper" pul tummy panel prevents wicking leaks. The low hip stability popper prevents "wing droop" ensuring an excellent snug fit.

How do I use it?

Before putting the soiled nappy into the bucket remember to remove the inserts from inside the nappy. This ensures when they are washed they get thoroughly cleaned and the water is spun out of them.

Many parents stuff their pocket nappies once the inserts are dry from the wash so that the nappies are ready to go just like a disposable.

The nappy is an everyday nappy but is not suitable for night time.

Bear Bott Care Guide

Flush solids, rinse the nappy and store in a dry pail until it’s time to wash them. There is no need to soak nappies.

Wash your nappies every two or three days.

Pre-rinse nappies on a cold rinse cycle without washing powder. For your main wash cycle, use the recommended amount of washing powder for your load size. Use a long (at least two hour) wash cycle.

Bear Bott nappies can be washed at 40 or 60 degrees, however please be aware that continuous washing at 60 degrees may reduce the lifespan of your nappies.

Do not use fabric softener as this will reduce absorbency. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.

Line dry outside or rack dry inside, do not place on direct heat. Can be tumble dried on low if required. Please be aware that excessive tumble drying for long periods of time and on a high heat setting may reduce the lifespan of your nappies.

Scarring possibly from nappy material or design? Unsure.

Loved the look and quality of this nappy before use. Unfortunately our little one had either friction burns or an allergy (possibly from the leg elastics despite not being over tight) and developed red skin markations which have actually left a small scar on one side. Unsure if anybody else has had this problem.

Not my favourite Bear Bott nappy

I ordered this nappy because I love the All In Two (and the pods and wet bags are amazing!) so thought I'd give the pocket a try.

As with all Bear Botts, the prints are beautiful. I also liked the athletic wicking jersey lining and the popper arrangement which provides lots of options to get a good fit.

However, unfortunately, I did not like the inserts. These are short and as the pockets are quite large moved around in the pocket. They did however have good absorbency. The pocket is also less trim than other Bear Bott nappies, there's quite a lot of fabric in the back of the nappy, so it seemed to bunch up.

So whilst I love the prints I probably won't buy another pocket - I'll stick to the AI2!

Really nice pocket nappy

I got the Bear Bott pocket to try as we really liked the fit of the AIO. The fit is great although a little chunkier than the AIO (which is expected). It has internal gussets that seem to help prevent the spread of poo. The athletic jersey is a nice inner, not as soft as fleece but feels lovely and dry against the bum. Little ones skin reacts really well to it.

The only negative I had was the Bear Botts own insert moves around quite a lot inside so isn’t always in the right place, however it’s never caused us any leaks.
