Nappy Overview

The Bambino Mio MioSolo Classic is a one size, Velcro fastening, all in one nappy. It's especially suited for tall children and families that need quick drying nappies.

The Miosolo Classic super absorbent core inner is made with an absorbent microfibre fabric which is a form of polyester. Microfibre is quick drying and offers good and reliable absorbency.

The outer layer of the Classic is made of a stretchy water resistant fabric.

The Miosolo Classic is lined with a super stay soft fabric which also keeps baby's delicate skin feeling dry. Due to the in built stay dry layer you do not need to use a separate fleece liner however you can still add a disposable paper liner if you prefer.

The waist fitting on the Miosolo Classic is also exceptionally stretchy so it's also a good choice for very chubby babies. As it is so stretchy i've found it can leave 'sock' marks on baby but it won't irritate or cause soreness. The leak proof elasticated legs and the extra stretchy waist provide ultimate security against poonamis.

Best For Tall Children

The Miosolo Classic is a lot longer than other all in ones so if you have a very tall child this could be a good nappy to get you to potty training.

This would be a nappy that if you need to top up your nappy system once baby is 6 month+ and you've found that they are particularly tall/chubby and you're struggling to fit them into other all in ones this would be a good choice.

Bambino Mio Classic Miosolo Features

Nappy Sizing

The Bambino Mio MioSolo Classic is a one size reusable nappy. It is designed to fit 7-35lbs (4-15kgs).

I do have reservations about this nappy being used on a baby from birth as it's so long the leg holes can still be too big.  I think it's much better from 12lbs+.

How do I use the Miosolo Classic?

The length is adjusted by poppers on the front of the nappy and the waist tabs can be adjusted using hook and loop fastenings.

On the underside of the concealed super absorbent core pad is a tab to help you easily pull out the absorbent tongue before the soiled nappy goes into the nappy bucket. The pull out function improves washing performance and reduces drying time.

There is also a little flap at the end of the nappy tongue to help you easily insert the pad into the inside pocket.

I find Bambino Mio Miosolo Classic reusable nappy to be quite bulky in comparison to other all in ones like the Rumparooz Original or the Wizard Uno.

With older children you may need to add extra inserts of boosters.

Nappy Fabric - Classic Miosolo

Inner: 100% polyester, core: 85% polyester, 15% nylon.

PUL - polyurethene laminated outer fabric

Fabric remains soft wash after wash. Some people worry about microfibre being used next to baby's skin but in the Classic it is locked away underneath the staydry liner.

Care & Warranty

Bambino Mio Care Guide

  • Prewash nappy twice before first use.
  • Wash soiled nappies every 2-3 days.
  • Don't overload your machine so the nappies can wriggle around and get extra clean
  • Wash according to the garment label. No higher than 60deg with non-bio washing detergent
  • No fabric softeners. They will reduce absorbency
  • No harsh stain removers or bleach.ne
  • Close any hook and loop fastens before washing
  • We recommend air drying away from a direct heat source. Nappies can be tumbledried on low.
  • Hang nappies by the fabric core to minimise wear to elastics

Bambino Mio Warranty

Bambino Mio offer a 1 year guarantee against manufacturing faults. The 1 year guarantee starts from when the item was purchased, not first used.  We will collate the information from you regarding the problem and pass on the details along with proof of purchase to Bambino Mio. Bambino Mio will contact you direct to arrange an exchange of any products covered by its 1 year guarantee which they consider as faulty and have been cared for correctly and deemed not to have experienced problems due to general use.

Bambino Mio warranty does not cover products that have been subjected to excessive or incorrect laundering: the definition of excessive laundering includes but is not limited to:

a) Consistently washing at 60 degrees and above
b) Regular tumble drying (Note: regular tumble drying can and will reduce the lifespan of the Miosolo all-in-one nappy and the Miosoft nappy cover)
c) Extra rinses before and after ‘normal washing’.
d) Leaving nappies outside for prolonged periods of time
e) Exposure to freezing temperatures
f) Using harsh and abrasive products to clean and soak nappies
g) Incorrect soaking of products in Miofresh (Note: you must not soak the outer of the Miosolo all-in-one nappy or the Miosoft nappy cover)
All of the above will result in premature deterioration of your nappies, this is not deemed as proper care and therefore your guarantee will be void.

The washing instructions on all Bambino Mio garment labels state the maximum laundering conditions and are not what Bambino Mio recommend to maximise the life of their products. To get the best out of your nappies Bambino Mio recommend washing regularly at 40°C with one scoop of Miofresh nappy cleanser and air drying them. Washing regularly at higher temperatures and frequent tumble drying can result in premature deterioration of your nappies.

The manufacturer may ask for proof of which detergent you have been using during the period you've had the item so we strongly recommend you keep your receipts you can prove you've been washing following the supplier's guidelines. This can speed up any warranty claims considerably.  A photo of the detergent box and a photo of the detergent ingredients will be needed plus receipts of detergent purchases in the time you have owned the faulty nappies (usually 1 or 2 receipts showing purchases across the previous 6 months).  If you have bought any specialist nappy detergent through us during the time you've used the nappies please let us know and we'll have all your receipts already on record for you to save you this requirement.

Bambino Mio's decision on any warranty claim is final.

Great if we use boosters every time
Rating:
23 April 2022  |

I have been using these nappies for a couple of months (LO was 3 months old when we started and is now and average length 5 MO). They were bulky when he was smaller, but they seem less so as he has grown. They don't stop him rolling. I have always used a booster, they have really good absorbency that way and very poor absorbency without strangely, they're a bit all or nothing. For now because my LO feeds and poos at night I use them at night with the bambino Mio flat booster and he can go as long as 7 hours if he has a good stint of sleeping, no leaks. They are great at absorbing poo as well, no poo explosions any more, which were a daily occurrence in disposables. The absorbent strip and boosters do stain, but the stains come out really well in sunlight. Overall I'm really happy with them, they seem to work for us.

Really wanted to love them

Having seen these nappies for sale in supermarkets, and having so much resemblance to a disposable nappy, I really thought these nappies would be the way forward. This all in one was going to be the solution to the cloth nappy jargon and confusion about which brand and nappy style to invest in. I also thought it would be a great nappy to give to grandparents/nursery to use.

However, I've used ours a few times now, and I'm sad to say it always leaks. It could be that I'm not putting it on properly, but surely it can't be that difficult? I might persevere one day when we're staying in, but so far we're disappointed.

My go to nappy
Rating:
05 November 2020  |

For ease of use, quick drying time and price point, you can’t beat these nappies. There are more absorbent AIOs out there, but they cost significantly more and take an age to dry. I just add one LL bamboo booster to these and they last my 15m old heavy wetter 3-4 hours. I’ve tried other brands, but I missed some of the great design features of the bambinos. The laundry tabs are strong, the pull to take out the inner is really convenient and the pocket is great for stuffing in boosters. The patterns are also gorgeous! I find the velcro much less fiddly than poppers, and it is still in great condition. With multi-buy kits available these are a really cost effective way to build up your stash, and I keep coming back for more.

I bought a couple of these as an experiment because I felt that my 9mo baby girl was turning out to be a bit too tall for her Bumgenius Elementals. However, the Miosolo is not as absorbent as BGs, so any improvement in fit and the cheaper price is outweighed for me by the need for more frequent changing. I could change BGs at around 6hrs, ie only once during a day out, whereas the Miosolos have long been overwhelmed by that time. I am now trying them with a Hemp Baby booster, but am not overly keen on how that shortens the fit. I have preferred my other experiment with Thirsties Naturals for having a longer fit than the Elementals and comparable absorbency; and actually, the Miosolo experiment has also made me appreciate the Bumgenius again. Very cute prints though and will do a turn as a back-up nappy bag nappy.

Good as a back-up nappy

I decided to try a couple of these as I had a friend that raves about them. I normally use bumgenius pocket nappies with a bamboo insert. I found these bambino nappies really easy to use and quick to dry. I like that you can remove the inner to aid drying speed too. Fab designs and fit my 6 month old girl well as she is long and slim. Resemble disposables so grandparents aren’t scared by them! Only downside is they aren’t quite absorbent enough for my girl compared with my usual nappies (unless I use a booster in them) so I don’t use them as a ‘go to’ nappy...keep as a back up if I’ve gotten behind with washing, or keep permanently in the change bag for emergencies.

Easy to use and good intro nappie

22 May 2020  |

I’m new to reusable nappies and bought a variety of different nappies — four of them being Miosolo. I’ve a rather long, 9 week old, breastfed baby girl. I find these so easy to use, they dry fast, the string and pouch detail are handy and really help limit your interaction with pooey nappies. I’ve read these aren’t as absorbent as others but I haven’t found that yet. It could be I’ll see this as she gets older and/or when we start introducing solids. But for the most part I really enjoy using these and make good introduction nappies. Plus the prints are lovely!

I bought several of these nappies back when my son was about 6 months old and they were great, really fast drying (will dry overnight if hung near dehumidifier) and never had any leaks that i can recall. Prints also lovely. However i was disappointed when my son grew out of them aged about 20 months. He is only average height and weight but we found that once the waist was fitted as wide as possible the loop part of the velcro (laundery tab) was in contact with his skin and caused it to be red and sore

Gorgeous prints
Rating:
23 March 2020  |

The best thing about these nappies is the gorgeous prints. I have never had a leak but always boosted with a little lamb triple bamboo. They feel quite sturdy and dry quickly however there are a couple of things that I don’t love about these nappies. The Velcro feels like it won’t last and my 5 month old is already adept at undoing. They are very bulky and don’t seem that comfortable and often leave marks around the legs. Still, the look lovely and are a lot better than a disposable.

Finally buying some all-in-ones for my 9 month old - have been using terry towel + mother ease wraps from birth (which have been fantastic) - mostly to make it easier for granny / nanny / helpers to change nappies! So far I'm really happy with their absorbency, really easy to wash and take 24 hours to dry - however I don't trust their containment as much as the motherease wraps - the elastic doesnt seem as bombproof, so only using these for daytime and continue using terry towel + booster for night time.

Tried a few of these for my 2 year old. They are lovely quality and fit really nicely. I do however need to put in a bamboo booster for these as without they leak after around an hour and a half as my 2 year old is quite a heavy wetter. When the booster is in they are much better

We love the design and simplisity of these nappies. My 12 month old is very tall, and these are the only nappies that I think will be big enough for at least another year. The only reason for 4 stars is that it is not very absorbant, however they work great with additional boosting.

Great nappy, but little too big for slim babies
Rating:
15 December 2018  |

I didn’t use them on my boy until he was 7 months old, because they were too loose around his thighs. He has always been quite slim, so maybe could be used earlier for a chubbier baby.
The velcro got used over time, and once in while will unattach itself if worn for too long.
Finally, I use extra stuffing.
I also use it as a night diaper with extra inserts.

So it has some down sides, but I’m quite happy it.

I love these nappies, the brand new ones are very soft and absorbent, the older ones I have (used on 2 previous children) are slightly less so, so I just add an extra bamboo insert but the elastics are still good so I would say they age well. Love the fabric designs, and I find the all-on-one type very simple. Ease of drying middling - takes about 2 days to air-dry indoors (vs Milovia inserts dry in about a day)

13 September 2018  |

I borrowed these nappies from a friend before buying and I'm glad that I did. My little one is very small and very slim and even when she was ten months I couldn't get these to fit her and not leak. They are great looking nappies, they dried very quickly, are easy to use and they fit my friends little one who is just above 50th centile and 1 year old and they don't leak for her. I was recommended the bumgenius freetime which fit my little one brilliantly, they are a much smaller nappy all round.
So apart from being really big these nappies were great

Great addition to the stash

04 May 2018  |

The bulk of our stash are little lambs but the bambino mios make an essential accompaniment as they dry so much faster. Prints are very fun too! Only down side is, a month or so on from when I bought them, the inner tongue of the BMs don’t look nearly as pristine as the bamboo inserts from the little lambs, which suggests they mightn’t have the same lifespan.

I give 3 stars because the prints are adorable and I like the features of the nappy. However the microfibre inner just didn’t work for my little boy. They worked boosted until he reached 5 months but they were bulky enough. Also the Velcro slowly becomes less sticky. Can’t imagine them lasting years. Can get better nappies for the price in my opinion.

Fast drying but unsure about durability
Rating:
19 February 2018  |

I bought one of each of the following AIO nappies (Bambino Miosolo, Bumgenius Elemental, Bamboozle Stretch, EasyFit Star, RealEasy)

The BM Miosolo dry the quickest of all the AIOs I've tried. If warm flat they can be dry within 8hrs.
My partner finds these the easiest to use.
Stains seem to come out of these easier than the cotton of Bumgenius Elemental.
The only things that makes it not a 5 star for me, are the designs and the fact I can see the stitching of the velcro tabs is already starting to loosen after 4 or 5 wears, so I don't know how long they will last.

I love love loved these nappies... Until the PUL split into designs (Monkey and Panda) and the velcro just failed after a year's use. So no money back from Miosolo because they only guarantee for a year. I've been forums and discovered this isn't a unique experience either. It's not a case of the velcro needing a clean either, it just stop sticking for some reason.

My LO has been using the miosolos since she was 3 months. I have 10. She usually goes through 4-5 a day (we use a disposable at night at the moment-see below).
Easy to clean. Put them on before I go to bed and hang them inside overnight, then pop them in the sun in the morning to get rid of any yellow stains.
They are quite bulky which is why I don’t use them at night. LO happily sleeps in them for naps, but not sure they’d be too comfy for the whole night.
I was in two minds as to whether to go for reusable, but so glad I did.

Not such a great nappy for our son
Rating:
03 March 2017  |

I am disappointed with this nappy and with the recommendation. Our son is tall so we were recommended this nappy as the only option for him for an all in one nappy. We were not keen to use polyester but since it seemed to be the only one recommended by the nappy lady, we bought 15.
The velcro on the nappy is already folding back and the top of the nappy is so firm it is creating a raised red lump on our son's belly button. They don't appear so breathable either so he is getting a bit rashy too. He had lovely skin before. Also leakages out the legs too.

We tried to sell them on but no takers yet so feel like we have wasted money and resources in investing in these nappies.

The nappy seems to also restrict his movement a lot. He was rolling over easily before we bought them and now has trouble. When I change his nappy and give him some time out of the nappy he has his feet in his mouth and rolls around happily, protesting when I put the nappy back on as he can't then get his feet to his mouth anymore.

A good thing about them is they are quick to dry.

We have now bought Bumgenius and they fit him better and don't restrict his movement so much.

Response:

Sorry to hear you haven't got on well with the miosolo. They are an excellent choice for tall children as they are so much longer than other all in ones. As baby grows you may find that he outgrows the other brands you're using.

All cloth nappies are more breathable than disposables so if he's getting a rash it's important to look at other areas such as is he teething, how are you laundering the nappies.

Cloth nappies support and stabalise the hips, while baby is small this can make less movement than when they are without a nappy or in a disposable but this isn't a bad thing and as baby gets bigger and the need for hip support is less full movement will be there. The bumgenius will be slimmer but they are also smaller.
