Motherease Bedwetter Pants

Brand:  Motherease

Motherease Bedwetters are the nearest thing to a disposable pull on pant, these washable pull up pants have a 100% polyester waterproof outer barrier in the same fabric as the Motherease wraps. The dense 85% cotton inner is very absorbent (approx 600 ml), but quite slow to dry - to speed drying, part of the inside is a soaker panel attached at the ends only. Machine washable at 60 and can be tumble dried.

These pants, sadly, have a most unattractive name. They are designed for children approx 3 years plus who still require a night nappy, but want the personal control of a pull on.

They are very expensive, especially if you need more than one, but bear in mind that one Bedwetter Pant equates to the approximate cost of only one month`s night-time supply of disposable pull ons. Also, since there is a definite market demand for them, but many people baulk at the new cost, there is a very high second hand demand for them.

Our experience is that these pants either work extremely well, or not at all. They do seem to be quite shape-dependent. So always prewash and use only one, until you are happy that it is right for you, before washing any others.  It should also be noted that they really do need two or three pre-washes before they get really absorbent.

Too tight

This works great to absorb nighttime accidents and washes easily. But it is too tight on my 3yr old who weighs about 29lb.

Great night nappy for my chunky toddler
Saturday, 1 December 2018  |

Purchased these for my both chunky and tall 2.5 year old who’s only just making the transition to cloth at night as he’s dry during the day. We’ve used a couple of times now and he thinks his ‘sumo pants’ (?!) are great. They’re super bulky compared to a disposable pull up but that hasn’t deterred him, and the fact that he can pull them up like pants has made the trasition seamless. The fit is true to size for us (he’s roughly 18kg and in a size small) and we’ve had no issues with containment or leaking so far (I’d estimate he’s a relatively heavy wetter at night). Pricey but well worth it, we’d certainly look at getting another pair!

Good quality and perfect replacement to hundreds of disposables

No complaints at all really. Definitely need two. They dry within a day on a towel radiator. As for the wearing, I'd say that they are comfortable, if a bit bulky, don't leak and are generally well received

An absorbent pull up
Wednesday, 26 September 2018  |

It’s rare to find a pull up cloth nappy that’s absorbent enough to deal with a toddlers full night time wee. This nappy is, however we’ve found that you need to be really careful to make sure that there isn’t any of the absorbent material sticking out the sides. This is pretty tricky when your toddler pulls them up and down when using the toilet. I’d also have preferred it if it had a fleece lining as adding an additional one isn’t really feasible if you’re expecting to pull it up and down. The small was a good fit in our 3 year boy.

Brilliant for bedtime wetters who are out of day nappies
Monday, 13 August 2018  |

My 2.5 year old has been nappy free for 8 months through the day, but sometimes they still pee at night despite a pre bed pee & dream pee when I go to bed. They tend to pee a large volume, other brands such as grovia pull ups (had to buy the 3-5yr extender plus side tabs) & close xl night (way too small) leaked despite boosting and she was not able to pull these up and down herself for the pre-bedtime pee and I also struggled at the dream pee!
Hurray for mother ease bedwetters, they fit well, super soft, very absobent & easy to pull up and down allowing us to switch from cloth night nappies to cloth pull ups. No additional booster needed and she can feel herself when wet so wakes up. Love the new prints, a few more gender neutral ones would be great! You only really need 2 pairs and they sell on well so a great investment, initial cost may seem alot but they are worth it if you need that extra night protection that they can pull up thenselves without lots of bedding changes. #clothrocks

This was for my daughter who is 4 now and still needs nappies just at night for wee. This works well. I would get a bigger size than you think as we needed to go up a size quite quickly.

The first succesful bedwetter pant we've tried
Monday, 11 June 2018  |

The xs fits my 4 and a half year old well (he's a little on the short side, fairly solidly-built and around 15 kg/33lb). We've used them twice so far and they've contained the wee very well both times. They're easy to wash and dry and easy to put on and take off (my son struggles to take them off when they are wet, I suspect that the wetness rather than the fit is the cause of that.

Excellent pull up which lasts all night
Tuesday, 5 June 2018  |

I bought these because my 4 year old won't wear nappies at night and normal training pants weren't working because he doesn't seem to wake up when he needs a wee at night. I was washing his bedding every day. These are great and he has not had a leak since using them. I was worried he wouldn't like them because they are bulky and plain, but I think he is happy not to wake up wet anymore. The small sh

good absorbency and service but no good fit for my girl
Monday, 19 March 2018  |

These nappies looked very bulky, but good quality. HOwever I used them only one night as the morning afterwards my child's legs were very badly marked by the elastics. I had bought the S size for my daughter who is 18kgs, but her legs were apparently too squeezed by the elastics. She is a bit chubby but not fat at all. Absorbency was very satisfying. I had bought 2 pairs and opened only one, so I could send the other back and get refounded. I was happy with the service.

Pull up pyjama pants
Sunday, 28 January 2018  |

I purchased these for my 4.5yo boy who is showing no signs of being dry at night. He was out wetting a disposable and refused to wear his younger brother's nappies as he didn't want to be like a baby. We have been using them for a month or so and just purchased a second one as they do take a while to dry. They still have capacity for more by the morning so they must hold a lot.

Excellent for toddler!
Monday, 6 November 2017  |

Perfect for my three year old who mostly goes dry all night now but on occasions she still has an accident. Holds a LOT, so no leaks at all if she does wet in the night. She’s quite petite so the smallest size is perfect for her (she’s about 26lbs). She doesn’t like nappies on at all now but I can sneak this one on her once she’s asleep and she will only take it off if she is wet so it must feel comfortable then.
It’s quite costly but definitely worth the money as you can buy one or two if you have an occasional bed wetter. It does take some time to dry though even if you tumble dry, so I will be purchasing a second one shortly.

Ideal!
Friday, 14 October 2016  |

We bought these pants for our tall, slim 5.5 year old who has long been dry by day but needs some extra help at night. The pants hold a full wee with no leaks and have given him more confidence to get up and use the toilet than when we were using disposables at night.

The price was a bit scary at first but has proved worth it and, having used full time cloth for years, I am so much happier using this product than having to resort to disposables.

Effective but not pretty...
Monday, 15 August 2016  |

These did the job, we had no leaks, but they are quite simply huge! My little boy is very slightly built, I imagine that these would be much better for a larger or chunkier child as he said the were "uncomfortable" and "too huge" especially when he tried to get up to walk to the loo/potty. He also found them far to hot to wear during the summer. If we still need them we might try again in the winter when he's grown a bit and it's cooler, though I imagine it would be difficult to find pyjamas to fit over the top.

Quality nappies, great service
Sunday, 27 December 2015  |

First of all, these bedwetter pants really work. My son is 5 and a half, and used to wet himself almost every night. We had many leaks with disposables and much laundry! Ever since we have the sturdily made bedwetter pants, there are no more leaks and my son is a lot drier at night. He still wets himself about every other night but we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
The service provided by the nappy lady is excellent. A quick phone call ensured we ordered the right size and our three pants arrived very quickly. A big 'recommend' from two hardworking parents who were tired of stinky, plasticky disposable nappies every morning!

Have used these pants for a while at night after my son grew out of little lamb size 3s. I absolutely love them, he's a really heavy wetter and they absorb really well and never leak! Have 5 in circulation washing every 2-3 days but think may need more because they take 4-6 days to dry!

I bought 3 pants and washed them. The boy woke up absolutely soaking in a bed. Even so he is very rear has small accidents. He is 5 years old and an average build. A small size fits perfectly but it leaked. I don't recommended this product to anybody. Waste of money. The customer service refused returns of 2 unused pants because it was washed once.

Response:

As per other reviews these are very popular nappies but fit is critical. The size you ordered was not advised by us and you ordered a size that was bigger than your child needed which would compromise the fit.

As part of the product description we advise the fit is very critical on these items.

As described you should only test one pair before washing all of them as we can not accept back washed or used items.

We only sell NEW items so if something is washed we do not accept them back as it's no longer in new or the condition it was sold in. This is in the product description and the terms and conditions customers have to accept at the time of ordering.

We hope this reassures customers that they are only buying new products and not ones that have been used and washed in a detergent that might not be suitable for another baby/child. Nappies are a form of clothing and when we go clothes shopping we don't expect the underwear we buy to have been washed by someone else.
If in doubt of which size to buy please contact us and we'd be happy to talk through the best size for you.

Bed wetter pants
Wednesday, 30 April 2014  |

These have been working very well for my 2.5 year old who is dry in the day but still not at night. These are useful because if she needs the toilet after she's ready for bed but before she's properly asleep then I don't have to help her take on and off a nappy multiple times (partly a bedtime delay tactic but at least now it takes less time!)
The bike down sides are that she has a slightly sore bottom as there's no sort of fleece liner to help keep her dry. I bought the size for her weight but then bought the next size up which both work but find the bigger ones are easier for her to pull up and down
Overall very happy

Great discovery
Sunday, 27 April 2014  |

Very happy with these. They really don't leak at all, unlike other real nappies we've tried. The main down-side is that they're really bulky but our little boy (6, with special needs) doesn't care and they're bulky because they're really absorbent! They do take ages to dry (because they're so wonderfully absorbent....) but I've found if I hang them out inside out on the top of our radiator towel rail they dry overnight which is perfect. The fact they're pants means he can put them on himself (big bonus) and one day he might even take them off to use the loo - I live in hope! Thoroughly recommend these if you don't mind a bulky bottom.

Still deciding
Monday, 30 September 2013  |

I bought a one pair of these for my 4 year old daughter a few weeks ago. The small size fits fine and she finds them comfy and is happy to wear them. We've used them for about 5 nights in total and no leaks yet even though I think she is a heavy wetter. The down side is they take ages to dry - at the end of the day on the line on a dry but not hot day they are still damp which is making me think, to give us enough for daily night use, I'm going to need 5 or 6 - a big expense but then if my daughter does not get the hang of night time potty training for a while yet then it will be worth it. The other problem is the skin on her bottom is rather red for the next 12hrs after wearing them - I guess due to the moisture next to her skin at night which is odd as she never had a problem with washables at night when she was a baby. And she does not complain of irritation but then currently we only have one so not using them every night. The other downside, compared to disposable pull up pants at night, is the washable pants and PJ bottoms do smell strongly in the morning of urine and after a couple of days so do her sheets. So extra washing there too. Still deciding if it's worth investing in more pairs.

Thursday, 20 June 2013  |

I bought these for my daughter as she finds the disposable pull-ups irritating.

They are very soft so she is much happier. They are very absorbant and we have not had any leaks. She is 4 and we bought the extra small.

I wondered whether washing & drying would be difficult as they are quite thick but they are dry in a day on a radiator. We are really pleased with them.

To add - the service from "The Nappy Lady" was brilliant. We received it really quickly and were pleased with the prompt, friendly & efficient service.
Thank you.

Motherease bedwetter pants
Thursday, 25 April 2013  |

I was not very pleased with this purchase as the 'pants' were incredibly bulky and looked very much like other re-useable baby nappies. As my daughter wasn't very keen on the idea of nappies in bed anyway (having been out of them day and night for some time) it was too much like a nappy rather than like pants which I was hoping. Thank you for my refund.

Yes unfortunately these are very bulky pants but they offer high levels of absorbency which older children often need. We always advise you see how the child reacts to them before washing. Many children are fine with them but some aren't.

Bedwetters
Thursday, 14 March 2013  |

We bought these after my son (4 years) decided he didn’t want to wear a nappy at night – we had a long trial period of him just wearing pyjamas, but he wasn’t ready to be dry at night, so we needed something new! He is quite a copious wetter, so it had to be something that would hold a fair amount (disposable pull ups were a disaster!). The bedwetter pants have been great – we call them his pyjama pants, and he is very happy with them. They only leak very occasionally (more to do with his pyjamas getting tucked inside them a bit than anything else), which has meant a lot less washing of bedding for us! They are a bit bulky and do take a while to dry, and they’re not cheap (although I’m sure better value than disposables), but well worth getting when nappies are out of the question! We bought 3 and this just about seems to get us through, with a nappy wash every 1-2 days (as we have another one still in nappies).
