Brand:  Little Lamb

Little Lamb washable breast pads in my opinion are THE BEST washable breast pads I’ve ever used and I’ve tried many brands over the years of breastfeeding my three children.

So why are they go good.....?

  • They are extremely slim making them discrete in your bra and under clothing. You’ll have no more telltale round outlines under clothes even with fitted tops.
  • They are lined with a breathable PUL coating to ensure you don’t get any leaks. Many of the washable breast pads I tried didn’t have a waterproof layer at all. Once these other pads were saturated the milk would begin to seep through to your bra and clothes.
  • They are made of incredibly soft and super absorbent bamboo which holds more liquid than traditional cotton pads.
  • Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial and anti-fungal reducing the risks of yeast infections.
  • The diameter of the pads is 11cm or 13cm so they will not slip about or peek out of your top. 11cm are the average size however for more well endowed ladies (lucky you) 13cm offer better coverage and higher absorbency.

Simply pop these into your bra and position centrally over your nipple. They are highly absorbent and even with my strong milk let down I never needed to change them due to them being saturated. In the first few months of breastfeeding I did change them during the day purely for hygiene but over time as my milk flow began to settle down they were perfect for all day use. I also used these for managing night time leaking too.

I wash them with my normal household washing at either 30 or 40deg and dry them on an airer over night. You may find putting them into a small mesh laundry bag helps prevent them getting separated or lost in with other washing.

The breast pads come in packs of 5 pairs and are tied together with a ribbon to reduce packaging. You will need between 5-10 pairs depending on your milk let down and your washing frequency.

Very nice and soft. They have lost their shape a bit in the wash though. Unfortunately they took 3 weeks to arrive in the post which was a bit disappointing!

Unfortunately when you ordered the product was out of stock at the manufacturer and was a preorder line. As much as we were chasing there was nothing we could do to get them quicker to you.

Wish I'd got these ages ago...

I never leave reviews so these must be good. Could've saved myself a bomb on disposables with my first if I'd bought these years ago! Really comfy. Waterproof layer is inside (i.e. between bamboo layers) so is soft both sides and therefore sticks in your bra better. You don't sweat in them. Washes well. One accidentally went in a low tumble-dry and came out fine. Ever so slightly fluffy so occasionally sticks but still better than disposables.

Disappointed - Not for big 'leakers'
Thursday, 5 April 2018  |

Was really excited to get these as I didn't want to shell out for disposables in the long term. Washed them 4-5 times as directed on the original website but was disappointed to find that I have leaked twice today using them for the first time. Luckily I wasn't out and about.. I wish I would have read some more reviews before purchasing as it does seem that these are not suitable for those with a big let down/high leakage.

Better than expected
Tuesday, 27 March 2018  |

I had been using washable breast pads bought from Tesco's and Boots and I wasn't happy with either.
I bought these at the same time as a nappy order to reach a minimum spend. I am so pleased I did! When they arrived I didn't think much of them, they didn't have the plastic back I was used to seeing and I didn't think they would work for me, prepared to leak (again 😩 I gave them a go.
They're great! Absorption is fantastic even though they seem small, and they are discrete and comfortable. They wash well and dry really quickly, what more do you want.

Love these
Monday, 5 February 2018  |

I was using the most expensive disposable breastpads for 6 months before I realised there was a reusable option. The disposable wicked away the wetness and so I did wonder if the reusable would be as good. I find these reusables really comfy, and don't feel any dampness. I wear them all day and night and then put them in the wash (in a laundry bag) with the daily wash. The pack of 10 is plenty for me now my milk supply has settled down, but feel even in the early days would be enough. As it's winter they dry on the radiator in a few hours.

I bought the larger size which fit well and are lovely and soft to wear. However the absorbency isnít as good as some other brands and Iíve found I need to change these more frequently. Several times I havenít noticed that they were wet and Iíve ended up getting soaked.

Comfortable, absorbent and discreet
Thursday, 11 January 2018  |

These are streets ahead of the other washable breast pads I have found. They are very discreet under clothing, plus so soft and comfortable! In addition they seem to be absorbent enough for 24 hours (although bear in mind I only leak during feeds these days). I wish I'd found them in the early days when my tongue-tied baby gave me sore nipples!

First time mum-to-be so not 100% sure what to expect. Soft and comfortable, absorbent. My only slight issue is with them moving within the bra cup, but as I've never used them before, this may be normal for all breast pads.

Soft and absorbent!
Monday, 18 December 2017  |

My favourite nursing pads - soft and absorbent... only slight downside is (as there is no PUL backing) these can fold in on themselves when unhooking front of bra to feed, making it trickier to get back in place after. Thin too, so shows least of all the pads I've tried.

Washables saved my life
Tuesday, 7 November 2017  |

Washable breastpads are my top recommendation for nursing mothers! They are much softer and more comfortable than disposable. Life-saver for anyone with sore/cracked nipples, vasospasms, thrush (bamboo is anti-bacterial) etc. Wearing washables has allowed me to wear real clothes again, and live a normal life despite a range of breastfeeding issues. The product: I've got these and the Bamboobies lined ones. The little lamb ones are unlined so stay onto the nursing bra well, even when opened to nurse. I've never found the lack of waterresistant backing to be a problem (and I leaked a lot). These pads are super-soft, but do lint onto nipple a little bit up until 6 washes or so. They are still my top choice of pad, as they are extremely comfortable anddon't show at all even under tighter clothing.

Really Soft!
Thursday, 12 October 2017  |

These are nice, they are really soft, nice and slim. The 11cm are a similar size to most disposable ones. But I found that I have a very strong let down (possibly because baby is only 5 weeks old) and I soak through these, I possibly should have got the larger ones, it might have helped. But hopefully my supply will settle and then they should be fine.

Very comfy but not absorbent enough
Wednesday, 4 October 2017  |

I found the pads to be very soft and sit very comfortably and discreetly in my bra. Unfortunately though I have quite a strong let down, especially at night, so I've had quite a few leakages with these and I've had to resort to disposables.
They work nicely during the day though and I'm hoping that I will be able to use them more as baby settles into a more steady feeding routine.

A fab product which works well- but do not use when you still have colostrum as the bamboo fibres stick to it and it is very painful pulling it off. I got scabs after doing it repeatedly.

Great for day time!
Thursday, 20 April 2017  |

Lovely and soft, wonderful for day time use. I have to use heavy duty disposables for night time still but these still save me lots of money! Definitely get the biggest size as I'm a c cup and still find the biggest size have shrunk a bit in the wash, if I'd purchased the smaller ones they would be too small now. These are definitely the best reusable breastpads I've found yet x

Not absorbent enough for me
Thursday, 13 April 2017  |

These pads are very soft but unfortunately do not do the job for me. I have a massive supply of milk and I leak a lot and I have to change these hourly. I loved the idea of washable pads but I've had to revert back to my favourite disposable brand. Disappointing as I bought ten pairs of them

Best pads I've found yet!
Sunday, 9 April 2017  |

These are excellent! I have 3 different brands of pads and these are the best ones by far. I mainly purchased them because they are larger and I am larger busted. I wanted more coverage in case they moved about at night and I missed the pad like had happened with some other brands. The larger size solves this problem.

They are so soft! Softer than my other pads and so much thinner and more discreet. You can't see the circular shape through tops which is excellent!!! They are so thin but I've also found them really absorbent and I only need to put one pair on first thing in the morning and that lasts me all day and night and then change them the next morning when I shower. Just make sure that they are flat when you put them in/after feeding as they are more floppy than other pads and so can crease up when they are adjusted. Other than that they are perfect. If in doubt about buying these, just get them and try them!

I have a rediculous milk supply and although these are really soft and great for sore nipples, they are always exceeding capacity resulting in damp patches! The back is also absorbant so they leek around the sides too. Not a problem if you don't have occasional gushes like I do!

These pads are much softer and more comfortable than the disposable ones. They do get a little bit caught in my bra if put my boobs away quickly, and bunch up, but that is not exactly a big deal and all the disposable ones I tried did too. I had huge boobs even before I was breastfeeding, and the normal size pads are plenty big enough.

First time I've used reusable breast pads and they are great. These are really slim so fit in bra well and can't see them even under tighter tops. Fantastic absorbency. Have really strong let down when little one needs to feed and these pads have been great. Can feel them wet on the side to skin yet no leakage. Very happy customer and would definitely recommend and the service was great too. Easy to order and quick delivery.

These breast pads are so lovely and soft, exactly what I needed especially with my initial soreness as the start. However they do leave a little bit of fluff which is a bit annoying before feeding. I would definitely recommend having a tumble dryer as they do take a while to dry

really nice and soft, not scratchy compared to other brands I have tried. However I do tend to lose them in the washing machine / round house sometimes, and with washing only every second day and the long drying time of bamboo I need two packs. A brilliant product though, would recommend .

Perfect
Sunday, 16 October 2016  |

I got 10 pairs which I find is plenty. I've never had visible milk leaks except on my pyjamas- and I don't have a bra keeping them in place at night. They sometimes feel damp on the back but still keep my bra pretty dry most of the time, and I only change every 12ish hours.

They have become a little misshapen and it's true that they shrink a little, so it's worth going for the bigger size- which I would guess hold more?

Fab product
Monday, 5 September 2016  |

Being a new mom and new to breastfeeding, I was looking for breast pads that were soft on my poor boobs and didn't waste tons of packaging. These pads work a treat - really soft and more absorbent the more they get washed. They do take about 12 hours to dry so because of this, I bought two lots to make sure I'd have a good rotation. Much softer than disposables, love these pads!

Very good washable pads
Saturday, 3 September 2016  |

In the first months of breastfeeding I had too many leaks with washable pads, so I had to use very absorbent disposables. But now, a few months further, these pads are great. They are not shaped, so a bit fiddly to put in at first, but after an hour or so, they have formed a bit and are great to use. The only downside for me is that they tend to move under my clothes at night, so don't always stay in place, which sometimes leads to leaks. The plus is that they are quite thin, so invisible under my clothes.

Wednesday, 1 June 2016  |

I do love these breast pads. They're really soft and you can't tell you're wearing them at all. The only problem is you need to double up at night. I tend to do this or wear disposable ones at night as they have the waterproof outer. The other thing is I'd recommend the larger size as they do shrink quite a bit in the wash, and you also need to wash at least 3 times to prevent the fluff coming off on your nipples! But I really do rate them!

I have these in the 13cm size. It took a few washes before they reached full absorbency (same as bamboo nappies I guess) but they're amazing now. I leak a lot some days, and was going through 10-12 disposable pads in a day at times. With these it's max 6 per 24 hours, and they don't feel scratchy like the paper edges on the disposables. Haven't had damp spots on my top since starting these.

Not absorbent enough
Monday, 23 May 2016  |

Loved the idea of washable breast pads but these are probably only suitable for those with minimal leakage. I opted for the larger 13cm size hoping this would suffice but sadly even changing them regularly, the pads still leak, don't stay put and rumfle easily under clothing. Hope that a more eco-friendly alternative to disposable pads is produced soon. Back to disposables for me. Disappointing after I ordered 10 pairs of these.

Sorry to hear you didn't get on with these. I personally used them with feeding my children and found them to be fabulous (why they made it onto our site). It is important to prewash all absorbent fabrics before use and breast pads do need to be changed at each feed or they will leak.

Amazing for sore nipples
Monday, 21 March 2016  |

I absolutely love these! I bought 2 packs which are enough if I keep on top of the washing. They were amazing at the beginning for sore nipples, so soft and soothing. The fact they're not stay dry helps as well - my nipples felt worse with disposables. At first if I had a heavy let down they didn't contain, so I got some leaks, but it hasn't put me off at all. A very minor point for me. Now at 5 weeks my supply has calmed and I have hardly any leaks at all. I think if I'd got the larger size there would have been less issues

Very impressed with these excellent bamboo breast pads. Lovely and soft against battered nipples, easy to wash and dry (40 degrees with other light colours), and no leak-through with average milk supply (after the first month post-birth). My only suggestion for improvement would be to make them concave rather than flat; breasts are not flat, and the fabric puckering can result in a rather 'android' sort of look under light-coloured clothing.
