The Nappy Lady Ltd

Nappy Brands Warranties

All brands offer a warranty on their products, the length and details of what is covered by the warranty varies depending on the brand. The Nappy Lady doesn't offer any warranty, these are all offered by the brand manufacturing the product. Details of the warranties and how to make sure you do not invalidate them can be found below.

Each manufacturer has their own individual washing recommendations and requirements; while many manufacturers requirements overlap you may need to wash different brands products separately to maintain individual manufacturers' warranties. If you do not follow their individual requirements you will invalidate your warranty.

Each individual manufacturer has their own procedures and requirements for dealing with returns. I've detailed these below, The Nappy Lady customer service team know the procedures for each manufacturer and will deal with them accordingly for you.  Any product falling under a warranty claim we will get the information we need from you and will liaise with the relevant manufacturer on your behalf. The manufacturer's decision on any warranty claim is final, your warranty lies with the manufacturer and not The Nappy Lady.

You are responsible for the return of any faulty goods and the risk of loss when returning them. We will provide you with a free return label for faulty goods and you can obtain a free certificate of postage from the post office. This certificate will only cover you for £20 (correct at the time of writing) if your item should get lost in the post.  If you require greater levels of insurance this is at your own cost.

Faulty Goods are defined as: Faulty Goods due to a manufacturing fault e.g. a popper came off. Manufacturing fault DOES NOT include wear and tear or excessive wear or tear of: fabrics, fastenings or elastics, not fitting, being outgrown, absorbency issues/leaks, stains, smells, damage due to incorrect washing, damage from washing machines, drying, storage or care of an item.

Applecheeks Warranty

Applecheeks warranty on Envelope Covers and Swim Diapers covers Snap issues for 18 months, elastic defects for 60 days (exempting known issues with some rubber elastics) and workmanship/sewing defects for 30 days. AppleCheeks warranty on inserts covers sewing defects only for 30 days. WARRANTIES ARE NON-TRANSFERABLE. The name on the invoice/sales receipt must match the name of the individual making the claim.

Delamination: AppleCheeks replace all diapers with delaminated PUL that are claimed with a year of purchase, with proof of purchase.

Cracked PUL: As per AppleCheeks conversations with the PUL supplier, cracked PUL occurs when the laminate is severely dried out. This can happen because of water quality, types of detergent, and many other factors out of our control. As such, AppleCheeks do not cover cracked PUL under warranty.

Stretched Braided Elastics: AppleCheeks cover issues with braided elastics for 60 days, with proof of purchase. Elastics stretch over time and this is inevitable. Factors such as hard water, constant stripping, use of fabric softeners, bleach, vinegar or scented detergents, extreme high temperatures, smaller than recommended stashes, as examples, can affect the life of an elastic and are out of our control. If there is an issue with elastics within 60 days of purchase AppleCheeks will require photos, proof of purchase and details of the issue at hand.

Inserts: AppleCheeks cover all manufacturing defects on both viscose from bamboo and microterry inserts for 30 days with proof of purchase. This includes pre-existing rips to the fabric or sewing-related issues.

Normal Wear and Tear/Non-manufacturing related damages: All products have a limited lifespan despite care taken to preserve them. These products are used to contain such acidic substances as urine and feces, and are washed regularly. As such, they will all eventually show wear and tear. There is no set amount of time that a nappy product can be expected to last. AppleCheeks do not warranty against degredation from prolonged storage or wear from use including but not limited to holes, runs under snaps, snags on sidewalks or from pools, wood, cement, or washer/dryer problems. If you notice any such thing PRIOR to first wash, please do not wash. Contact The Nappy Lady to arrange an exchange.

Used Items: AppleCheeks warranty does not cover any used items purchased second-hand. AppleCheeks only cover products purchased new directly from AppleCheeks or their retailers. Warranty cannot be transferred.

AppleCheeks Washing Instructions are found here.

The manufacturer may ask for proof of which detergent you have been using during the period you've had the item so we strongly recommend you keep your receipts you can prove you've been washing following the supplier's guidelines. This can speed up any warranty claims considerably.  A photo of the detergent box and a photo of the detergent ingredients will be needed plus receipts of detergent purchases in the time you have owned the faulty nappies (usually 1 or 2 receipts showing purchases across the previous 6 months).  If you have bought any specialist nappy detergent through us during the time you've used the nappies please let us know and we'll have all your receipts already on record for you to save you this requirement.

Bambino Mio Warranty

Bambino Mio offer a 1 year guarantee against manufacturing faults (see definition above). The 1 year guarantee starts from when the item was purchased, not first used.  We will collate the information from you regarding the problem and pass on the details along with proof of purchase to Bambino Mio. Bambino Mio will contact you direct to arrange an exchange of any products covered by its 1 year guarantee which they consider as faulty and have been cared for correctly and deemed not to have experienced problems due to general use.

Bambino Mio warranty does not cover products that have been subjected to excessive or incorrect laundering: the definition of excessive laundering includes but is not limited to:

a) Consistently washing at 60 degrees and above
b) Regular tumble drying (Note: regular tumble drying can and will reduce the lifespan of the Miosolo all-in-one nappy and the Miosoft nappy cover)
c) Extra rinses before and after ‘normal washing’.
d) Leaving nappies outside for prolonged periods of time
e) Exposure to freezing temperatures
f) Using harsh and abrasive products to clean and soak nappies
g) Incorrect soaking of products in Miofresh (Note: you must not soak the outer of the Miosolo all-in-one nappy or the Miosoft nappy cover)
All of the above will result in premature deterioration of your nappies, this is not deemed as proper care and therefore your guarantee will be void.

The washing instructions on all Bambino Mio garment labels state the maximum laundering conditions and are not what Bambino Mio recommend to maximise the life of their products. To get the best out of your nappies Bambino Mio recommend washing regularly at 40°C with one scoop of Miofresh nappy cleanser and air drying them. Washing regularly at higher temperatures and frequent tumble drying can result in premature deterioration of your nappies.

Bare & Boho Warranty

Bare and Boho products come with a 6 month warranty against defects in workmanship and materials from date of purchase not from first use.

Claims Covered By Warranty:

  • Snaps
  • Flaws in fabric
  • Stitching
  • PUL
  • Zippers

Claims Not Covered By Warranty (Not Limited To):

  • Shrinkage in natural fibres (organic hemp/bamboo-cotton will shrink- read product descriptions for more information)
  • Accidental damage on shell: PUL delamination from high temperature washing, excessive sun damage through drying, tumble drying
  • Accidental damage on inserts: via non-compliant wash routines, washing above 60 degrees, soaking, nappy barrier cream, fabric softeners, bleach, detergents containing: whiteners, dyes, perfumes, essential oils, vinegar, natural soaps.
  • Any type of modification such as cutting, stitching, removing aspects etc. (including the care label)
  • Excessive wear and tear
  • Snags
  • Fading
  • Pilling

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS can be found on their site here.    We summarise them below:
Bare & Boho Covers come with a recommended maximum washing temperature of 30°C. The inserts can be washed up to 60°C

You must NEVER tumble dry your covers.
You can tumble dry your inserts on LOW however for longevity (and environmental reasons) tumble drying is always best avoided.

Bare & Boho recommend you wash your wraps separately with normal household washing at 30°C.   Make sure you don't use any fabric softener in a nappy wash with your covers or inserts.

You can choose to wash your wraps higher than 30°C in with the nappy inserts for ease of washing HOWEVER it does invalidate the warranty on the covers.  Many people choose to do this but it is at your own risk as long term washing at higher temperatures can lead to quicker wear and tear of the covers.

The manufacturer may ask for proof of which detergent you have been using during the period you've had the item so we strongly recommend you keep your receipts you can prove you've been washing following the supplier's guidelines.  A photo of the detergent box and a photo of the detergent ingredients will be needed plus receipts of detergent purchases in the time you have owned the faulty nappies (usually 1 or 2 receipts showing purchases across the previous 6 months).  If you have bought a nappy specialist detergent through us during the time you've used the nappies please let us know and we'll have all your receipts already on record for you.

If you believe you have a faulty product please contact The Nappy Lady with details of the problem and photos and we'll liaise with Blueberry for you and arrange a replacement if appropriate. The faulty items will always need to be returned to The Nappy Lady.

Blueberry warranty covers: Product stitching, seams, elastics, and any of the product’s components including snaps, hook & loop closures, and fabric holes discovered immediately upon receipt of item.

What it doesn’t cover: Leaking, odour issues, fading, staining, repelling, and normal wear and tear which includes any of the following issues that appear after 90 days of use: holes and tears in the fabric, elastic loosening, and stitching that comes loose. It also doesn’t cover hand-me-downs. The warranty applies to the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase is required.

Diamonds are forever. Nappies aren’t.
Blueberry nappies are remarkably durable. But they aren’t indestructible, and like any other clothing item, they will eventually show signs of wear and tear and may not withstand being used and washed several times a week for extended periods of time.  But they’ll last longer if you take care of them properly. And that part’s your responsibility. We won’t refund an item caused damaged by improper care, abuse, misuse, normal fading or normal wear and tear of the product materials.

The warranty is also void when washing instructions haven’t been followed and/or the following have been used;

  • fabric softeners
  • vinegar
  • any other caustic substances

Kangacare Warranty

Kangacare warranty is only for the original purchasers of the products. The warranty starts from date of purchase not first use.

Snaps:
Kangacare offer a lifetime warranty on all snaps.

Elastics:
Kangacare have a 3 month warranty on all elastics. Elastics that have become un-attached in the casing, stitching undone, or have a defect due to a manufacturing error are covered under the warranty. Elastic that has been dissolved or become corroded due to detergents or cleaning agents, or have given out due to time, wear and tear are not covered under the warranty. To get the longest life out of your nappies and their elastics please chose a detergent from their recommended list.

Sewing:
Kangacare have a 6 month warranty on all stitching and seams. Manufacturer sewing defects will arise immediately or within the first couple of washes. In nappies, this warranty includes stitching that will affect the functionality. This includes stitching that encases elastics in the legs and back. This warranty does not cover top stitching that has been "popped", which is aesthetic, and does not affect the function of the nappy. This is usually caused by the over-stretching of the tabs. Holes or snags that occur in any of the fabrics due to wear and tear of the product are not covered under Kangacare's warranty.

General Warranty Information:
Defects may either be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Kanga Care. All nappies must arrive clean, unstained, lint free, and dry.  All nappies with excessive wear will not be replaced or repaired under their warranty. One Size nappies are designed to last through the nappy life cycle of 1 child. A one size nappy is 4 sizes in one diaper and is used continuously for 3+ years, unlike sized nappies which are only used for an average of 4-6 months per size. When well cared for, many families are able to use the same one size diapers on a second child. At this time they would recommend purchasing a new set of inserts to refresh the absorbency back to its max. One size nappies lasting through multiple children is not a guarantee or promise. Kangacare can not guarantee how long they will last. Just like any other garment, during the process of using, washing, and drying the nappy, wearing will occur. The life expectancy of our products depends on the degree of care taken, the quantity of nappies in your rotation and type of abuse the nappy is given. The average cloth nappy replaced 375 disposable diapers.

What is not covered under their warranty:

  • Leaks
  • Sizing/Fit Issues
  • Lack of absorbency/repelling
  • Staining
  • Damage
  • Wear and Tear

What will void your warranty:

  • Washing instructions are not followed, including, but not limited to:
  • Use of Sanitising cycle while washing or water temperature above 130ºF/54°C
  • Use of and or soaking in bleach, Borax based cleaners, Oxy Clean, or any other caustic substances that may damage the materials and compromise the integrity of the elastics and waterproof nature of the waterproof laminate.

Kangacare washing instructions are found here.

Please contact us if you think you have a faulty product and need to claim under the Motherease warranty. We will liaise with Motherease for you. Motherease will require any product to be returned or destroyed before a replacement.

If you have bought Motherease's detergent through us during the time you've used the nappies please let us know and we'll have all your receipts already on record for you.

MuslinZ Warranty

  • Envelope Covers covers Snap issues for 12 months
  • Elastic defects for 60 days
  • Workmanship /sewing defects for 30 days
  • Prefolds and terry inserts sewing defects only for 30 days.

WARRANTIES ARE NON- TRANSFERABLE. The name on the invoice/sales receipt must match the name of the individual making the claim.

Delamination: MuslinZ replace all diapers with delaminated PUL that are claimed with a year of purchase, with proof of purchase.

Cracked PUL: As per MuslinZ conversations with the PUL supplier, cracked PUL occurs when the laminate is severely dried out. This can happen because of water quality, types of detergent, and many other factors out of our control. As such, AppleCheeks do not cover cracked PUL under warranty.

Stretched Braided Elastics: MuslinZ cover issues with braided elastics for 60 days, with proof of purchase. Elastics stretch over time and this is inevitable. Factors such as hard water, constant stripping, use of fabric softeners, bleach, vinegar or scented detergents, extreme high temperatures, smaller than recommended stashes, as examples, can affect the life of an elastic and are out of our control. If there is an issue with elastics within 60 days of purchase MuslinZ will require photos, proof of purchase and details of the issue at hand.

Inserts: MuslinZ cover all manufacturing defects on both viscose from bamboo and microterry inserts for 30 days with proof of purchase.

MuslinZ do not warranty against degredation from prolonged storage or wear from use including but not limited to holes, runs under snaps, snags on sidewalks or from pools, wood, cement, or washer/dryer problems. If you notice any such thing PRIOR to first wash, please do not wash. Contact The Nappy Lady to arrange an exchange.

Used Items: MuslinZ warranty does not cover any used items purchased second-hand.  Warranty cannot be transferred.

Tots Bots Warranty

Tots Bots offers a 1 year guarantee against manufacturing faults (see definition above). The 1 year guarantee starts from when the item was purchased, not first used. If you believe you have an item with a manufacturing fault, you will need to contact us with details and photos of the fault. We will confirm your purchase date from our records. TotsBots may require the items to be inspected before a warranty decision is made, we will inform you if this is required in your case.   Product inspection can take up to 6 weeks to complete. Tots Bots warranty decision is final.

Tots Bots Warranty is VOID when:

  • Using harsh stain removers, biological detergents or bleaching
  • Boil washing
  • Continually tumble drying on a warm or hot heat, or directly on radiators or similar
  • Adding vinegar or sodium bicarbonate to the wash

As well as above Tots Bots recommend:
DO NOT use fabric softener or liquid detergent as these can coat the fibres, decrease absorbency and affect the waterproofing.
When using a nappy cream always use a nappy liner.
Don't use pastes of nappy powder directly applied to nappies as this is too concentrated.

Excessive laundering can destroy elastic, destroy the water repellency, make the fabric go bald, reduce the performance of your nappies, drastically reduce the lifespan and will render your guarantee void.  Full details on TotsBots washing recommendations are found here.

The use of Tots Bots Potion detergent is recommended but not required for warranty coverage.
