Are Travel Pottys Worth It?
A travel potty has a signficant cost compared to a standard potty so many parents question whether they are worth the investment. A travel potty gives your child consistency as they will use the same potty wherever they are, home, childcare, daysout. Having a travel potty immediately on hand reduces the stress on families to knowing where the nearest toilet is.
While they are learning young, children often do not know they need the toilet or are able to empty their bladder at a convenient time such as a toilet stop. We've all been there where you've asked them and no they don't need to go and then you find 10 minutes down the road they are bursting!

When to start potty training?
Potty training usually starts somewhere between 18-30 months with the average being 27 months however don't get too fixated with their age and instead look for signs that your child is ready to potty train.
If your child is starting to become aware that they have a wet nappy or have done a poo is a good sign that they are starting to be ready.
Some children begin the process earlier and others later. My own children completed potty training and were full reliable at the ages of 38 months, 20 months and 30 months. Each had their own potty training journey and were ready when they were ready. One of my children had to have surgery which set back their training as they had to go back into nappies but they all got there in the end. The general consensus is that girls are quicker to train but my super speedy trainer at 20 months was a boy.
Summer is a very popular time for potty training as little one can be out in the garden (saving your floors from some accidents) along with being on holidays so there is time to concentrate on little one rather than the daily rushing to nursery.
If you have a big life changing event happening such as a new baby or moving house then it's often wise to wait & delay starting the potty training process until life settles back down after the arrival of baby etc.
