Little Lamb Newborn Nappy Overview

Little Lamb bamboo nappies are incredibly soft and extremely absorbent. The velcro fastening and soft bamboo makes a nice comfy fit for smaller newborns in comparison to the size 1 nappy.  Bamboo viscose is extremely absorbent however it does have a tendency to shrink when woven into nappies. Little Lamb bamboo nappies now have their bamboo viscose knitted into a fine microfibre fabric therefore creating a non- shrinking non- pull bamboo nappy.

The Little Lamb Fitted Nappy fits the average baby to approximately 10lbs.

How do i use it?

The nappy fastens with Velcro making them extremely simple to use. The tabs on all the Little Lamb have a crossover tab at the waist so the nappy can be made a tighter fit for a smaller baby.

There are laundry tabs inside each nappy which are designed to secure the tabs before the nappy goes into the bucket or washing machine. This prevents the Velcro picking up fluff in the washing machine and makes the Velcro long lasting.

Nappy Fabric

Bamboo viscose knitted with fine microfibre.

Each nappy comes with a super soft fleece liner and a removable double layer bamboo booster. Removing the booster gives a trimmer fir for smaller babies.

Little Lamb Care Guide

Store dirty nappies in the nappy pail, separating any washable boosters, inserts or liners and closing the Velcro tabs over on themselves.  When you have a load ready, put them in the washer on a 30˚ wash with half the recommended dose of detergent, give them an extra rinse and air dry. That's all there is to it.

Here are a few tips:

- Dry pail the nappies.
- Soiled nappies should be washed regularly. Do not leave soiled nappies for longer than three days.
- Check the Velcro tabs are closed tightly on the nappies. Wash the wraps with the velcro closed but inside out. Boosters and inserts are best removed from pocket nappies prior to washing.
- We advise washing at 30˚.

The above is all most parents need to know but for the few parents who need it we've included the sum of our knowledge below:

Detergent: In our opinion powder detergents dissolve quicker and rinse better leading to cleaner laundry.

Dosage: We advise starting with half the recommended dose of detergent for the load size and water hardness and working up from there. The amount of detergent needed is dependent on load size, machine type and water hardness. Soft water needs less detergent to be effective and hard water needs more - possibly up to a full recommended dose.

Fabric softener: Do not use fabric softener in your nappy wash - it will coat the fibres and inhibit absorption.

Sanitisers: We do not recommend using sanitisers with your nappy wash. Sanitisers will affect the elastic and Velcro components and shorten the life of your nappies.

Drying: Drying nappies in direct sunshine is best. Placing them by, but not touching, a heat source is effective but do not place them directly on radiators as they may scorch. Avoid using a tumble drier where possible; if you do use a tumble dryer make sure it's on the low heat setting. Do not tumble dry wraps or pocket nappies.

Perfect for tiny babies
19 February 2023  |

Weighing in at 5lb3oz, there didn't seem to be a lot of choice on the nappy front for my little lad (we even struggled to find a good supply of disposables).

These however, are a great fit! I don't use the supplied booster or liner with them yet, which means they are not too bulky around a tiny bottom. I've paired them with the Thirsties Newborn/Preemie nappy cover and have had no issues or leakage. I particularly like using these for nighttime nappy changes, as the velcro fastening mean I don't have to fiddle with a nappy nippa while half asleep. They have remained lovely and fluffy through several washes so far.
